Wario's Woods (formerly known as the Peaceful Woods) is the location of where the events of the game Wario's Woods take place. It was inhabited by the Sprites peacefully until Wario had manipulated and gained control of the woods through his mysterious powers, then he sent out the woods' monsters (imprisoned by the curse he put over them) to overrun the forest. Toad, along with Birdo and the Sprites, ventured into Wario's Woods on a journey to restore peace there. After passing through countless areas and fighting several of Wario's monsters and mini-bosses along the way, Toad and the others reach the end of Wario's Woods, where they meet Wario. A final battle for the woods initiates between Toad and Wario. After being thwarted, Wario is chased out of the woods by Toad. Peace is restored to the woods, including Wario's monsters, which awoke from the nightmare that Wario placed on them.
Wario's Woods (formerly known as the Peaceful Woods) is the location of where the events of the game Wario's Woods take place. The woods were owned by Wario, and at least one of its meadows even features its owner's face before he was defeated.

The SNES version of Wario's Woods has a few differences. The woods has a meadow that is the setting of the majority of Vs. Com mode, has Wario's face cut out in its grass. The posing of this face appears to be based on Wario SML2 artwork.jpg from Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. The woods are both the first and last areas seen in Round Game mode and the only setting of VS Com mode. The ending instead shows Toad destroying Wario Castle with a single bomb.
The forest had been revealed to once have been in peace inhabited by the sprites (fairy like beings) and quiet creatures until Wario arrived and took over. He then proceeded onwards by placing a spell (referred to as a nightmare in the game) over the monsters in the woods.

The inhabitants of the woods appear in neither version of Wario's Woods, although the Super Nintendo Entertainment System version implies that the creatures were made into Wario's monsters.
While the location was originally struck by the evil of Wario and his forces, the woods were restored to its original state thanks to the help of Toad and his allies.

In both the Super Mario KC Deluxe manga and Super Mario-kun, Wario's Woods are ruled by a wise fairy elder simply called Chiyōrō-sama (who also appeared in the Mario & Wario story arc in the KC Deluxe manga), and its inhabitants are fairies, one of which (the one that helps the protagonists during the events of the story) is Wanda, the protagonist of Mario & Wario. While Super Mario-kun follows the game events faithfully, with Wario suddenly invading the forest with his army of monsters and minions (with Goro and Mad being original inhabitants of the forest that were brainwashed by Wario), the KC Deluxe adaptation tells a very different story about Fauster being an ancient demon sealed centuries ago by a brave Toad, whose mask is worn by Mario during the story arc. Wario ends up freeing Fauster, who gratefully gives his powers to him to win over their enemies. Later, after a first defeat, Fauster and Wario return to destroy Peaceful Woods, this time sided by more minions, and almost succeed in their plan by sacrificing Luigi to the former, but are eventually thwarted by Mario and his friends.

Wario's Woods
In the Wario's Woods, Wario had manipulated and gain control of the Peaceful Forest through his mysterious powers. The antagonist then sent out the woods' monsters (imprisoned by the curse he put over them) to overrun the Mushroom Kingdom. Toad along with his two helpers Birdo, and Wanda ventured into the woods (which were the both the first and last areas seen in Round Game mode and the only setting of Vs. Com mode) in order to bring peace to the woods. Throughout their journey, the trio faced countless battles against Wario's monsters and their leaders (the mini-bosses). After passing through the countless areas, Toad and his two friends eventually make it to the end of the woods where they meet Wario; thus, causing the final battle for the woods to occur between Toad and Wario.

Upon defeating Wario, Toad is seen either chasing Wario out of the woods (as in the ending of the NES version) or destroying his castle with a single bomb (as in the ending of the SNES version). Once Wario is defeated, Toad is alerted that the woods had changed back to normal as peace returned to the area. The monsters who had acted as Wario's minions earlier on had also been stated to have awoken from the nightmare that Wario placed on them allowing them to finally live in peace within the woods. The fairy beings known as sprites (including Wanda) were also able to live in peace after the defeat of Wario. As a result, the Mushroom Kingdom no longer faced any problems from the inhabitants of the area once known as Wario's Woods.

It is unknown whether Wario still has ownership of the woods after Toad had defeated him. However, it is likely that the woods were set free after Toad had defeated the greedy owner Wario as the monsters were stated to have been in peace by this point. However, it is not impossible that Toad got the ownership of the woods as well as the fate of the woods was never stated at the end of the game.

*As stated above, a meadow in Wario's Woods (this meadow happens to be the setting of the majority of Vs. Com mode) has Wario's face cut out in its grass. The posing of this face appears to be based on artwork from Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3.

*The creatures that had once inhabited the forest in peace are nowhere to be seen in the actual game. However in the SNES version, it is implied that Wario's monsters are these creatures though they are under a spell by Wario so they could be used as his minions.
