Vancouver hosted the {{wp|2010 Winter Olympics}}, and thus it is also the main setting of the game ''[[Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games]]''. Many mountains are located near the city, including {{wp|Whistler Mountain}} and {{wp|Cypress Mountain Ski Area|Cypress Mountain}}, which hosted several Olympic events both in the game and in real life. Other venues which appear in the game include the {{wp|Hillcrest Centre|Vancouver Olympic Centre}}, {{wp|Rogers Arena|Canada Hockey Place}}, {{wp|Pacific Coliseum}}, and {{wp|Richmond Olympic Oval}}.

Three courses based on Vancouver appear in ''[[Mario Kart Tour]]''. The first course, [[Tour Vancouver Velocity|Vancouver Velocity]], was introduced as the signature course of the [[Vancouver Tour]]. The second course, [[Tour Vancouver Velocity|Vancouver Velocity 2]], later made its debut as the signature course in the [[Penguin Tour]]. The third course, [[Tour Vancouver Velocity|Vancouver Velocity 3]], was introduced in the [[Autumn Tour (2022)|2022 Autumn Tour]].

 

Several landmarks in Vancouver can be seen in the courses, which are the {{wp|2010 Winter Olympics cauldron}}, {{wp|Vancouver Convention Centre}}, {{wp|Canada Place}}, {{wp|Hotel Vancouver}}, {{wp|Waterfront station (Vancouver)|Waterfront station}}, {{wp|Gastown}} {{wp|Steam clock|steam clock}}, {{wp|Capilano Suspension Bridge}}, {{wp|BC Place}}, {{wp|Roger Neilson}} statue, {{wp|Science World (Vancouver)|Science World}}, {{wp|Rogers Arena}}, {{wp|Stanley Park}}, {{wp|Lost Lagoon}}, {{wp|Lions Gate Bridge}}, {{wp|Vancouver Public Library#Central branch|Vancouver Public Library}}, {{wp|Harbour Centre}}, {{wp|Museum of Vancouver}}, and {{wp|Vancouver Maritime Museum}}. The finish line posts are also designed to resemble the steam clock.

{{classic|Tour|Vancouver Velocity}} returns in ''[[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe]]'' in the fifth wave of the ''[[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass|Booster Course Pass]]''. In this game, it is the last course of the [[Cherry Cup]].
