Uploading[edit]
Hello, please do not upload images without filling in the summary or selecting a license. Remember to fill in the parts under "aboutfile", replace uncategorized with a category link (in square brackets, not curly) from Category:Game images (for example,
), and choose an appropriate license from the drop-down menu underneath the summary box.
Also, if you're not sure how to add an image to an article, Help:Image explains how (and Help:Gallery for adding it to a gallery), or ask if you need any more help. Mario JC 10:13, June 30, 2023 (EDT)
File summaries[edit]
Hello, PedroMario. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly use the aboutfile template. What you were doing looks like this, and it is an inconvenience for other users to fix up the template. It is simple to learn how to format it correctly. The pre-loaded syntax is shown below. Just replace the necessary parts with that corresponding information, and remove the entire line for the parameter(s) you don't use. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. If you continue using aboutfile incorrectly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
Hello, PedroMario. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:
When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the aboutfile template, replacing the uncategorized template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use: or Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
Please remember to add a category and remove any lines under "aboutfile" you're not using. Your files should also use a more descriptive name rather than the default file name, and they should be added to an article, otherwise they're unused and no one can see them. Again, the category link should be in square brackets instead of curly, and please change the file names to something descriptive when you upload. Mario JC 22:43, July 2, 2023 (EDT)
Remember to include your images to an article as well so they're public. Especially for currently popular articles like upcoming games, other users may accidentally upload duplicates without knowing they're already on the wiki. Mario JC 08:41, July 3, 2023 (EDT)
