| On ESMB page 127.png page you uploaded, I see not one, but two entries for boulders with different names. What's up with that? | ::::Only the Zen Hyakka indicates it being a giant Pukupuku with sharp spikes, the other bios agree on it being a Fugu or a Togefugu, including the Nintendo Official Guidebooks. Considering how the Zen Hyakka is the earliest encyclopedia from Shogakukan that I have, I wonder if it's something that Nintendo decided to rectify, as soon as the Daijiten was published (the Daizukan was published around the same time as the Daijiten, by another publisher).

| ::::*That encyclopedia does not cover the enemies of Yoshi's Safari, in theory the Super Mario Bros. Daizukan would cover them, but it covers only the most basic enemies, likely the ones featured in the manual as well (i.e. Paragoomba, Koopa Paratroopa, Boo, Parabomb, Boo, Bowser): the Koopalings and Magikoopa are not stated to be featured in said game. Fire Snakes are not stated to be featured as well, but this latter case is likely due to incomplete coverage.--Mister Wu (talk) 23:20, May 4, 2019 (EDT)

| ==Spine Coaster JP names==
| |
|

| |
| :It does have names for each one of them, though in the case of Super Mario 3D Land, they are not in the list of objects and are rather mentioned in the description of World 8-2:
| |
| :NEW SUPER MARIO BROS. WII:

| :NEW SUPER MARIO BROS. 2: ほねリフト
| |
| :NEW SUPER MARIO BROS. U:
| |
| :Only the ones from New Super Mario Bros. Wii and New Super Mario Bros. U are confirmed to be the same Bone Coaster, in the case of New Super Mario Bros. 2 it's rather a Bone Lift, while in the case of Super Mario 3D Land that object is apparently not as releavnt and just stated to be a generic lift.

| == Bell Tree ==
| |
|
| |
| Hey, i have a question. Someone made a conjectural article about the Bell Tree (which was a bad idea, as it could get merged, and possibly deleted), which IMO, we should have held off until the release. What's the Japanese name? -- 03:46, May 20, 2019 (EDT)
| |
|
| |
| Also, out of curiosity. What are these "Bumpers"'s Japanese name? This is why it is considered part conjecture.
| |
|
| |
| Also, do shakeable, and enlargeable objects in Super Mario Maker have a separate filename from their basic and normal sized one besides the shakeable Shoe Goomba? If so, what are they? -- 15:07, May 20, 2019 (EDT)
| |
| :Regarding the "enlargeable" part of my above comment, it was to know if it references "Kyodai Kuribo" or "Kodeka Kuribo" in any style, given that they are as small as a Hefty Goomba and split into two normal Goombas. -- 07:11, May 26, 2019 (EDT)
| |
| ::* The Japanese name of those trees is just 「木」, they are indeed grouped with the other trees.
| |
| ::* Those bumpers are known as「おじゃま泡」, another straightforward yet appropriate name.
| |
| ::* The enlarged enemies don't have a proper name, the color variants are simply known as A and B (nokonokoA, nokonokoB, pukupukuA, pukupukuB, togemetA, togemetB), whiel the completely different enemies are known by their name (e.g.: bros-bros_mega, poo-choropoo).--Mister Wu (talk) 21:26, May 27, 2019 (EDT)

| :SMCE page 57.png. @FanOfYoshi Every enemy (not the objects) has a short (typically one picture) manga on how to defeat it, realistically I won't be able to upload that many, I also wonder if that would be problematic from a copyright point of view for the wiki. By the way, in case you were wondering, the Wendy one just shows the upper part of the body that is coming out of the pipe. Regarding the Yoshi's Island Zen Hyakka, when book covering individual games are concerned, it's generally best going first with the Nintendo Official Guidebooks from Shogakukan. I don't plan buying the one about Super Mario: Yoshi's Island right now, since so far I wasn't involved in issues that would require that specific book.--Mister Wu (talk) 22:07, June 19, 2019 (EDT)

| |
|
| |
| Recently, Paper Mario: The Origami King included an explanation for Sumo Bro's Japanese name, K.K. - it stands for 「カミナリきょうだい」 (Kaminari Kyōdai, Lightning Brothers). I was wondering if you're aware of this being hinted at in any profiles since, to my knowledge, this is entirely new information. I'm also curious if any direct connection with Hammer Bro was brought up at any point (we do know of one source suggesting a similarity to Sledge Bro mentioned here). To a lesser extent, I'm also curious about this with Amazing Flyin' Hammer Brother, but not as much since it's still listed right after Hammer Bro in the Super Princess Peach gallery and has much more in common with Hammer Bro. Part of me thinks they were always supposed to be "Bros" but had the name dropped after the Hammer and Sledge Bros were removed from Super Mario World. LinkTheLefty (talk) 19:30, July 20, 2020 (EDT)
| |
| :Since you asked in this section, I think you’re more interested in the current sources. The Super Mario Pia doesn’t mention this connection:
| |
SMW, NSMU
| |
| :The two older books I have, the Super Mario Bros. Daizukan and the Super Mario Zen Hyakka, don’t seem to add much:
| |
| :DAIZUKAN
| |
| |
| :ZEN HYAKKA
| |
| |
| :The Mario no Character Daishugo Zukan from Kadokawa and GZ Brain, the small but most recent encyclopedia, only groups the four Bros. seen in Mario Kart Tour together, Sledge Bros. and Sumo Bros. aren’t in the book.
| |
| :In none of the recent books aside from the Encyclopedia Super Mario Bros. the Amazing Flyin’ Hammer Bros. are listed. The two older books reconfirm the connection with the Hammer Bros., in the Daizukan they are actually mentioned in the bio of the Hammer Bros.:
| |
| :DAIZUKAN (Hammer Bro bio)
| |
| |
| :ZEN HYAKKA
| |
| |
| :While it’s likely that Sumo Bros. and Amazing Flyin’ Hammer Bros. were meant to replace Sledge Bros. and Hammer Bros. respectively, the books mainly acknowledge the latter connection, with the former only vaguely hinted in the Daijiten (and even then they seemed to rather refer to Sumo Bros. being the heaviest along with Sledge Bros.).—Mister Wu (talk) 00:09, August 4, 2020 (EDT)

| == Bonneter biologist ==

|
| |
| Hello, Mister Wu. I raised an issue here about the validity of the "Bonneter biologist" as a unique individual in Super Mario Odyssey based on text from page 67 of the English translation of The Art of Super Mario Odyssey. If you have the time, I was wondering if you'd be willing to present and translate the original Japanese text from this page to see if implies the same thing. I understand that nouns are not pluralized in Japanese, so this may be an error on the part of the English translators. (In case the pages are not 1-to-1 between versions, this text would be in the bottom right corner of the page that covers the design of the Bonneters, underneath a screenshot of a Captured Uproot and a male Bonneter in Steam Gardens.) -- Nintendo101 (talk) 21:50, December 25, 2020 (EST)
