Mame/Chibi Kuribo[edit]
Hi, I thought I'd point out that the two times the name "Chibi Kuribo" is used, it's in Tiny-Huge Island and Mondo Woods, two areas themed around things being bigger and smaller than normal. Considering how "Mame Kuribo" are often depicted as infant Goombas (SMB3, SMRPG, arguably this Odyssey concept art), I think the difference between the two small-sized Goombas is more akin to Baby Cheep and Small Cheep Cheep. Ōkina?[edit]
Are we gonna address "Ōkina" being used for Big Cheep Cheep and Mega ? Block? Sorry to confound this further. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 15:09, October 20, 2024 (EDT)
- In case this leads to a wider kyodai split, I'd keep the swallowing/ōkina fellows all together, separate from the more-ordinary deka/dai ones, or leave it up to follow-ups to figure out the edge cases. As for blocks... The focus here would be on enemies, so I feel like that'd be a follow-up in case of a big split. (I'll get around to other ideas that don't involve splitting, by the way.) Mario Maker[edit]
Hi, just thought I'd remind you of something you may have missed in your "Simpler, please?" table. The (lowercase) "big" enemies named in Mario Maker for 3DS, such as the "flying big Lava Bubbles" (でかパタバブル) from 7-4 or "big Bowser" (でかクッパ) from 7-2. It seems the Maker games use deka for all big versions of enemies... Except for Sledge Bro and Heavy Fire Bro? Speaking of which, also, what do you make of the big versions of Para-Beetles from the Maker games? Are they Heavy Para-Beetle (like Sledge Bros)? Blinker (talk) 10:40, October 21, 2024 (EDT)
- Will add to deka, I rarely play reissues anymore so I didn't know about that. I also suspect I might not have all of the Mario Party stuff in order. For example, the River Survival section on the Super Mario Party article mentioned "Mega Cheep Cheeps", but I didn't see that name referenced in any footage I saw, so I assumed someone just made that to be line with the game's Mega Blooper. As for Heavy Para-Beetle...I didn't really touch on the filenames much except for the Japanese designations in Super Mario Galaxy 2, but judging from the New Super Mario Bros. Wii/U filename for Heavy Para-Beetle, I think it was at least very much made with the intention of being the standard "big" form of Para-Beetle. They do have a divergent design unlike most of them, though, as well as a different function, being "heavy" and all. I think intentions have changed, but filenames are another side to this that I might want to inject later. LinkTheLefty (talk) 11:12, October 21, 2024 (EDT)
