Doesn't matter if you're just capitalising or changing the format of certain words, [[MarioWiki:Courtesy#Censor|you're still editing comments]]. Stop doing this after they've been reverted multiple times. The only time you can do so is to fix broken coding, otherwise just leave them alone. {{User:Mario jc/sig}} 22:49, February 28, 2021 (EST)
:This is absolutely ridiculous. How fixing typos is a warnable offense is beyond me. Like, it makes the content more readable... {{User:1JUST1/sig}} 05:53, March 1, 2021 (EST)
::Because you're correcting other users' comments for them, which is rude. Whatever typos happened, happened, and should be left alone. {{User:Mario jc/sig}} 06:27, March 1, 2021 (EST)

==Re: Question about a new page: secret passages==
Hi, so, right out of the gate, I just wanted to check whether you were familiar with the situation with the Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia- basically, it takes an awful lot of stuff from the wiki, including unofficial names, as well as making a number of other stupid mistakes, so it's not necessarily the best thing to take a look at at the major guide- there was a [[MarioWiki:Proposals/Archive/52#Citing the Super Mario Encyclopedia|big proposal]] not long after the translation to prevent citing it for names, and you can see the sort of mistakes we're looking at from our [[Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia|article]]. I think I know what you're talking about (I can't say I've ever heard the term "layer 0" used before though, so I might be thinking of the wrong thing), though personally I'd lean towards not creating it- it's relatively common feature in platformer games so it's not necessarily something ''Mario''-specific, and as it doesn't really affect gameplay in a significant way, I don't think it really needs to be mentioned- if I've got the right thing, it's pretty much just an area hidden by a wall. I'm not sure though, so it might be worth bringing it up on an appropriate mainspace talk page, and see if anyone can help you there? Pretty much everyone on this wiki should be trustworthy, so you shouldn't always need to go to an administrator to check- you can always bring it up on a talk page, or the Boards or Discord if you're there, and usually you'll find someone who can help you. :Thanks for the information. To be sure about the subject, did you take a look at the [[World 1-1 (New Super Mario Bros. Wii)]] article? It mentions it, the secret area reached when you stay on the [[Warp Pipe]] of the [[Rolling Hills]]. [[User:1JUST1|1JUST1]] ([[User talk:1JUST1|talk]]) 17:43, December 28, 2020 (EST)

::Yes, I did take a look, but things can be a bit hard to identify when there's not necessarily a concrete name for them. And I didn't want to say that an article shouldn't be created just because I'm getting mixed up. I didn't get the encyclopedia (due to plagiarism mentioned above), so I can't check what it says in there either. Turns out the Yoshi one was actually jpg but the image URL specifies it being a png, so I wouldn't fault the user for that. {{User:Mario jc/sig}} 06:04, January 11, 2021 (EST)

== RE: File deleted + adding pages for non-released games ==
Alright. It might be better to create a [[User:1JUST1/sandbox|personal sandbox]] and keep your work there.
And what Bowser's Fury article is this? {{User:Mario jc/sig}} 06:12, January 13, 2021 (EST)
:I don't think there is enough information for those to give them an article just yet. We've only seen their appearance but not their function. {{User:Mario jc/sig}} 06:31, January 13, 2021 (EST)
==Subjective information and unofficial terms==
When writing articles, try to make sure that you're not including subjective information or language, like whether things are "fair" or "logical" like you did on the [[White Cat Mario]] article- that whole second article wasn't really necessary, as it was pretty much only justifying the form's appearance. Additionally, when you're writing articles, make sure you're using official terms for items and such- the correct term is "Super Bell", not "Cat Bell", so even if the links are coming up blue, they might be leading to a redirect, so it's worth searching the term or following a link as well to check that you're using the right one. [[User:BBQ Turtle|BBQ Turtle]] ([[User talk:BBQ Turtle|talk]]) 12:36, January 13, 2021 (EST)
:Yeah, I was debating on wheter or not including the second part. For the Super Bell, it is a mistake. I do not know why, but I keep calling it "Cat Bell". I make sure to use official names for things, but this is just a common mistake I do. {{User:1JUST1/sig}} 12:40, January 13, 2021 (EST)
::In general, please avoid padding on articles for the sake of extending the article length. It's fine if the only known information is small but still enough for an article, but don't fill it with [[Special:Diff/3103768|unnecessary and unrelated fluff]]. {{User:Mario jc/sig}} 05:58, January 14, 2021 (EST)
Also, remember to add the following above the navigation templates and categories when you're adding references:

:One last thing, the proposal regarding item infobox descriptions is now over, so please don't put any physical descriptions when creating any more. {{User:Keyblade Master/sig}}
::Ok, no problem! {{User:1JUST1/sig}} 12:50, January 14, 2021 (EST)
== White Cat Mario ==
Just curious, is there a source of the name "White Cat Mario"? If not, the page should be marked with <nowiki>{{conjecture}}</nowiki> {{User:Keyblade Master/sig}}
:Yep, there is a source. It is the overview trailer that dropped today. Watch until the end! {{User:1JUST1/sig}} 14:15, January 13, 2021 (EST)
== Telling Vandals to stop vandalising ==
For future reference, there is absoloutely no point trying to tell a vandal to stop since they will not just heed the message like that. The correct precaution is to put a report on [[MarioWiki:Staff noticeboard]] and wait until an admin blocks that user. {{User:Keyblade Master/sig}}
:Sorry, did not know that this page existed. {{User:1JUST1/sig}} 09:37, January 21, 2021 (EST)
::Also, IPs can't be permanently blocked. {{User:DarkNight/sig}} 14:11, January 21, 2021 (EST)
:::Oh ok. Why though? {{User:1JUST1/sig}} 14:18, January 21, 2021 (EST)
::::Because IP addressees change over time (mine for example changed multiple times last year), sometimes even without original offender's input. This may cause actual good faith IPs unable to make edits or accidentally block already registered users (happened to be as well), which we don't want. [[User:Superbound|Superbound]] ([[User talk:Superbound|talk]]) 14:56, January 21, 2021 (EST)
:::::Ok. However, how you could block a registered user if you just block an ID from someone who is not logged in? Does the user needs to retrieve the aforesaid banned ID? {{User:1JUST1/sig}} 16:15, January 21, 2021 (EST)
== RE: Weird user blocking ==
That IP was Hamshamcart, their account is blocked indefinitely and since then they have ban evaded multiple times. --{{User:Waluigi Time/sig}} 13:01, February 28, 2021 (EST)
== Screenshots and renders ==
Both screenshots and renders have a place on this wiki, so in the case of the Fire Piranha image, it's best to upload as a separate file. [[User:Doc von Schmeltwick|Doc von Schmeltwick]] ([[User talk:Doc von Schmeltwick|talk]]) 18:18, September 22, 2021 (EDT)
:Yes, though the screenshot was not in a very good quality and it was used in every page as the primary image, due to the lack of sprite. I so suggest to re-upload it with a different filename. Also remember to sign! {{User:Lastro/sig}} 18:23, September 22, 2021 (EDT)
== About this [[:File:Kibidango2.png|image]] ==
I'm not sure what you mean by "Wrong colors". Film restoration primarily deals with dirt and scratch removals, plus the correction of colors based on the visual references and cel photos of the original cut. {{User:PanchamBro/sig}} 18:43, June 5, 2022 (EDT)
== Cut-and-paste move ==
Hey, whenever there's an obstructing redirect in the way of an upcoming page move, please don't [[Special:Diff/4030948|perform what is known as]] [[Special:Diff/4030934|a cut-and-paste move]]. That type of move is undesirable because it splits page histories. Instead, tag the obstructing redirect with <code>{{tem|delete}}</code> and wait for an admin to delete the page. Thanks! {{User:Archivist Toadette/sig}} 20:45, October 29, 2023 (EDT)
:OK thanks for the message! I didn't know how to handle this but now should this situation happen again I'll know what to do. {{User:Lastro/sig}} 20:55, October 29, 2023 (EDT)
