Typographical errors in Mario games
Donkey Kong series
Donkey Kong Land III
- One of Wrinkly Kong's lines is "Keep an eye out for those Kremlins" instead of "Kremlings".
Donkey Kong 64
- Inside of Gloomy Galleon, a book on a desk is titled "Captain K. Rool's Log Book", instead of the intentional misspelling "Kaptain".
Super Mario series
Super Mario Bros. 2
- In the credits, the Hoopster enemy is misspelled "Hoopstar".
- In the credits, Birdo is labeled as Ostro and vice versa.
- In the early copies of the game, Clawgrip was misspelled as "Clawglip" in the credits. This was fixed in later copies of the game.
Super Mario Bros. 3
- In early copies of the game, Toad would say "Miss twice and your out!" instead of "you're". This was fixed in later copies of the game.
Super Mario World
- In the ending sequence, the Jumping Piranha Plant is misspelled as "Jumping Pirhana Plant".
Super Mario 64
- If the player copies a save file to another file that already has data, it will say "Save Data Exits" instead of "Exists". This was fixed in Super Mario 3D All-Stars.
- Once the player has collected all 120 stars and reached the roof of Peach's castle to talk to Yoshi, Yoshi will say "It that really you???" instead of "Is". This was fixed in the remake, as Yoshi is a playable character and the line of text is not present.
- If the player has one less star than needed to open a ★ door, the text that pops up will say "You need 1 more Stars", pluralizing the word "star" even though it is only talking about one. This was fixed in the remake, as in that game the line of text only says "You need 1 more".
- On the floating island in Bob-omb Battlefield, one of the signs says "Pull back to to fly up". This was fixed in Super Mario 3D All-Stars.
- In Cool, Cool Mountain, the Headless Snowman says "Have you run in to any headhunters lately??" instead of "into".
Super Mario Sunshine
- When F.L.U.D.D. scans Mario, several game titles appear, including "SUPERMARIOKIRT" and "MARIOKIRT64", with "Kart" misspelled as "Kirt".
Super Mario 64 DS
- When Yoshi picks up Mario's hat, it says that Mario can jump and perform a wall kick with the A button. While this would be true in the original Super Mario 64, the DS remake uses the B button instead.
New Super Mario Bros. 2
- In Coin Rush mode, the StreetPass description says "Your Mii character and name will be also be exchanged".
Super Mario Odyssey
- In the Metro Kingdom, Rattly's name is misspelled "Rattley" on the street signs.
Mario Kart series
Mario Kart 64
- In the Japanese version of the game, Charles Martinet's surname is misspelled as "Martinee" in the credits. This was fixed for the English release.
Paper Mario series
Paper Mario
- One of the Dryites refers to Merluvlee as "Merluvee".
- Watt is misgendered in the upgrade descriptions, which say "He'll master Turbo Charge" or "He'll master Mega Shock".
- The notice board in Toad Town refers to Lady Bow as "Lady Boo".
- Goombario and a Toad call the Li'l Oinks "Li'l-Oinks", with a hyphen, but the same Toad later says it without the hyphen.
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
- Goombella misnames Chain Chomps as "Chomp-Chomps" and says that Paragloombas are a stronger version of a Parakoopa instead of a Paragoomba.
- When collecting the Super Boots or Ultra Boots, it says "You got a Super Boots" or "You got an Ultra Boots", despite "boots" being plural.
- The Icicle Pop description states that it restores fifteen Heart Points, when it actually restores fifteen Flower Points.
Mario Party series
Mario Party
- Charles Martinet's surname is misspelled as "Martinee" in the credits.
Mario Party 2
- Charles Martinet's surname is misspelled as "Martinee" in the credits.
Mario Party 10
- Kerri Kane's name is misspelled as "Kerry" in the credits.
Super Smash Bros. series
Super Smash Bros.
- The Kongo Jungle is misspelled as "Congo Jungle", the name of the real-life location on which the Kongo Jungle is based.
- Charles Martinet's surname is misspelled as "Martinee" in the credits.
Super Smash Bros. Melee
- The description of Daisy's trophy states that she appeared in Mario Golf, when she did not. This error is not present in the Japanese release, which correctly says she appeared in NES Open Tournament Golf.
Mario & Luigi series
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
- At certain points in the game, both Bowser and Fawful say "Cakletta" instead of "Cackletta".
- After Luigi gets hypnotized, Princess Peach will say "You're" face looks so much more... manly!" instead of "Your"
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
- The final Save Album summary says "The Shroob's have been beaten" instead of "Shroobs".
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
- When Bowser visits Blubble Lake for the first time and uses the Save Block, his name is misspelled as "Boswer".
- If Bowser body slams a platform in the freezer room of Peach's Castle, the TNT Drumsticks he acquires are labeled as "Nuclear Drumsticks". This was fixed in the remake.
Mario Tennis series
Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash
- Kerri Kane's name is misspelled as "Kerry" in the credits.
Mario Golf series
Mario Golf
- When selecting the Boo Valley course in tournaments, "Boo Classic" is misspelled as "Boo Clasic".
- Charles Martinet's surname is misspelled as "Martinee" in the credits.
Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour
- In the Approach Shots tutorial, Toad says "f you press B..." instead of "If"
Mario Golf: Advance Tour
- When the player is putting for an albatross, the text that pops up says "Albatoross Putt" instead of "Albatross".
Mario Golf: World Tour
- Fumihiro Okabayashi's name is misspelled "Humihiro" in the credits.
Mario Baseball series
Mario Super Sluggers
- When playing with a sideways Wii Remote, the controls for Blooper Baserun say "Press 1 to go backwards and press 2 to go backwards" when 1 is used to go forwards.
Mario & Sonic series
Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games
- Kerri Kane's name is misspelled as "Kerry" in the credits.
- Kate Higgins' surname is misspelled as "Kiggins" in the credits.
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020
- On the Individual Archery trivia card, "athlete" is misspelled as "athelete".
- In the credits, the "License & Localize Coordinator" heading is misspelled as "Coodinator".
- In the credits, Patrick Seitz's name is misspelled as "Patrcik".
- In the credits, Cristina Vee's name is misspelled as "Christina".

- The L'Aéroport d'Orly is misspelled as "L'Airport d'Orly".
- In Athens, several signs say "ΟΔΑΝΤΟΚΡΕNΑ", which is not a word in Greek. It may be a misspelling of "ΟΔΟΝΤΟΚΡΕΜΑ", which means "toothpaste".
- A boy in Moscow says "Its Cyrlik initials spell out GUM" instead of "Cyrillic".
Mario's Time Machine
- The surname of historical figure Juan Sebastián Elcano is misspelled as "Del Cano".
Yoshi series
Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3
- When the extra stage of World 2 is unlocked, the game says "EXTRA 2 Opeeed" instead of "Opened".

- Turtle Bridge is misspelled as "Turtre Bridge".

- In the G&W History, Crab Grab is misspelled "Crab Crab".

Wario's Woods
- The At an Angle tutorial says "Press B to lift the "blue" bomb", when in reality the player must pick up the white bomb.
Mario's FUNdamentals
- On the Go Fish cards, "Bowsers" is misspelled as "Bowzers".
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
- The description of the Mushroom that the Triplets sell says "Recoers 30 HP" instead of "Recovers".
- Mokura calls itself "Mokuka" in its sole line of text.
- Axem Black's Psychopath line is "You're timing stinks" instead of "your".
