Ugly Ducting the twenty-ninth level of Donkey Kong Land III and the fifth level in Tin Can Valley. | Ugly Ducting the twenty-ninth level of Donkey Kong Land III and the fifth level in Tin Can Valley. The level's name is a pun on the fable, The Ugly Duckling.
==Summary== | |||
Ugly Ducting takes place in a pipeline. During the first half, Dixie and Kiddy must swim through underwater, where they encounter some Lurchins, Kocos, and Bounty Basses. The level is a maze somewhat as there are offbeat paths leading to items such as bear coins and a Bonus Barrel. During the second half, the Kongs return on land, and they must transform into Squawks, who must continue by flying up the pipeline, where he encounters Buzzes, Krimps, and Kobbles along the way. The No Animal Sign is near the end of the level, and from there onward, the Kongs must dodge some more Buzzes until reaching the End of Level Flag.

At the beginning of the level, the heroes will have to swim through the dark pipeline, traveling up through a narrow pathway. In the next area they will enter, they will have to swim a little bit to the west and follow a trail of three bananas past a few enemies. They will end up swimming through another passageway, then entering another area. There, they will need to grab the letter K in a small alcove and head through the water, still going west. After avoiding a few Lurchins in their path, the Kongs will make their way up another opening and find a dry area out of the water. There, they will have to walk to the right to find the Star Barrel. | At the beginning of the level, the heroes will have to swim through the dark pipeline, traveling up through a narrow pathway. At the first fork in the path, the Kongs must swim up through a thin opening and then go northeast into a nearby opening. The Kongs can eventually jump out of the water to be in an area with the Koin. They must pick up a Steel Barrel to the right of Koin and throw it at the left wall behind him. This causes the Steel Barrel to ricochet and hit Koin from behind, which defeats him, and the Kongs obtain the DK Coin. | !Image

|Collect the Stars!<br>After the Kongs swim upwards through the first pipe, they swim left down a long pathway. After avoiding some Lurchins and Kocos, the Kongs can enter the Bonus Barrel at the end. In the Bonus Level, the Kongs have 30 seconds to collect 19 stars by swimming around an underwater pipeline. When the Kongs get every star, the Bonus Coin appears at the top-right area of the level. | |||
