'''Twisted Mansion''' is the third race track of the [[Flower Cup]] in ''[[Mario Kart 8]]'' and ''[[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe]]''. This course is a large haunted mansion inhabited by many [[Boo]]s, and as such it can be considered as a spiritual successor to [[DS Luigi's Mansion|Luigi's Mansion]] from ''[[Mario Kart DS]]''. There are fifty-one [[Coin]]s located on this track.

This is one of the three courses (along with [[Mario Circuit (Mario Kart 8)|Mario Circuit]] and [[Toad Harbor]]) that were playable at E3 2013. Incidentally, all three take place in the [[Flower Cup]], in the same order as the original demo. This course was originally named "'''Boo House'''" in the demo, as indicated by the sign on the mansion's entrance.

==Course layout==

At the starting line, the player starts in the courtyard, where a large statue of [[Boohemoth]] can be seen. Once the player drives inside, they drive into an [[anti-gravity]] section that leads through the dining room. It serves as a split path with wavy physics like [[Bowser's Castle (Mario Kart Wii)|Bowser's Castle]] in ''[[Mario Kart Wii]]''. The player then goes through a library, and into another anti-gravity segment, traveling into an underwater corridor through an arch shaped like [[Bouldergeist]]'s head. The underwater section eventually splits into two paths, where [[Fish Bone]]s can be seen. Both end in a glider segment off a [[Glide Ramp]] across a courtyard similar to the one in [[Luigi's Mansion (location)|Luigi's Mansion]], with the upper route exiting along a wall; racers who take that path slowly twist back into the standard position. If the players take the upper route, they can land on a balcony and take a shorter route, whereas the lower one must climb a flight of stairs. They then exit the house and enter the final stretch to the [[Finish Line (object)|finish line]]. Here, some [[Hammer Knight]]s being possessed by Boos attack.

During the countdown to the race, the doors at the entrance of the mansion open up. This is one of six courses to have an opening animation during the countdown, with the others being [[Electrodrome]], [[Mount Wario]], [[Bowser's Castle (Mario Kart 8)|Bowser's Castle]], [[Excitebike Arena]], and [[Piranha Plant Cove]].

==Shortcuts==
*After the first split path anti-gravity section, there is a dirt section through the aisle in the library, that the player can boost through with a [[Mushroom#Mario Kart series|Mushroom]], [[Golden Dash Mushroom|Golden Mushroom]], or [[Super Star#Mario Kart series|Star]]s.
*At the end of the course, using a type of boost, the player can bypass the [[Hammer Knight]]s and the final turn.
