A Trial Stew is an item in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Super Paper Mario, made by cooking Couple's Cake with a Poison Shroom. In the Japanese version of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, a Trial Stew can also be made by cooking a Thunder Bolt with a Thunder Rage. If used, it lowers Mario and his partner to one HP and down to zero FP, but completely fills Star Power and triples how much is gained for a while. Unlike other recipes, its in-game description is written sarcastically, describing it as "amazing" and its results "incredible," without noting that some of said effects are negative. | |||
| In Super Paper Mario, the Trial Stew causes the player to lose all but one HP, but increases their point total by an amount equal the amount of HP lost times 100 (to a maximum of 99800 if the player has 999 HP before using it). | ||
