'''Rome Avanti''' is a race course in ''[[Mario Kart Tour]]''. It is based on the city of [[Rome]], {{wp|Italy}}, and as such takes racers round many landmarks and sites from the city, such as the [[Colosseum]]. The course made its debut in the [[Night Tour]], and is the second city course to not debut in a tour named after the city, the first being [[Tour Athens Dash|Athens Dash]]. It is also the first city course to debut alongside a classic course since [[Tour Paris Promenade|Paris Promenade]], over three years earlier. The course is the sixth European city course and is the first of them to be set at night. "Avanti" in the course's name is an Italian word that roughly translates to "onwards", making this the first ''Mario Kart'' course to feature a non-English word in its English name. The starting line for this course resembles the front side of the [[Pantheon]].

The course has three routes, Rome Avanti, '''Rome Avanti 2''', and '''Rome Avanti 3'''. The first two debuted together in the [[Night Tour]] while the third debuted in the [[Anniversary Tour (2023)|2023 Anniversary Tour]]. The first route takes racers through the Colosseum, the {{wp|Roman Forum}}, and {{wp|Piazza del Campidoglio}}, the second route takes them through the [[Spanish Steps]], the {{wp|Villa Borghese gardens}}, and some of the city's piazzas, and the third route takes them through the [[Trevi Fountain]], {{wp|Trajan's Market}}, the Colosseum, and {{wp|Piazza Navona}}. Additionally, the second route starts in the opposite direction compared to the other two. Rome Avanti 3 was effectively treated as the course that capped off new content for ''Tour'', as its normal variant was in the third cup of the 2023 Anniversary Tour and not the first (unlike the other new city course routes that debuted alongside it), and its R/T variant was the final course of the entire tour.

Excluding courses announced simultaneously, this course and [[Squeaky Clean Sprint]] mark the shortest period of time between the announcement of two new courses for the ''Mario Kart'' series, with only a 16-hour gap, beating the previous courses with this distinction, [[Piranha Plant Cove]] and [[Yoshi's Island (race course)|Yoshi's Island]], by five days. Despite the {{media link|MKT Rome Tour artwork.png|initial teaser}} for the course featuring being set in the course's first variant, it includes a [[Chain Chomp]], and a corresponding Chain Chomp warning sign, which appear in Rome Avanti 3. This suggests the teaser art combined elements of the first and third variants for the artwork, despite the third variant not debuting until the 2023 Anniversary Tour.

Rome Avanti is the only city course in ''Mario Kart Tour'' that never had any of its routes featured in [[Coin Rush (Mario Kart Tour)|Coin Rush]].

Rome Avanti returns in ''[[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe]]'' as the first course of the [[Acorn Cup]] in the [[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass|Booster Course Pass]].

The course starts in {{wp|Via del Corso}}, facing the {{wp|Victor Emmanuel II Monument}}. Just after the starting line, the player takes a slight left turn in {{wp|Piazza Venezia}} and enters a road leading inside the [[Colosseum]]. After a spiral loop with [[Swoop]]s ending with a [[ramp]], the player is sent to the {{wp|Roman Forum}}, which is littered with fallen columns that can be used to obtain [[Jump Boost]]s. The ruins of the {{wp|Temple of Vespasian and Titus}} and the {{wp|Temple of Saturn}} are visible on the left. The player must then take a U-turn to the right of the {{wp|Arch of Septimius Severus}} and a left turn in {{wp|Piazza del Campidoglio}}. Afterwards, the player takes a tight right and left turn leading near the {{wp|Fountain of Neptune, Rome|Fountain of Neptune}} in {{wp|Piazza Navona}}, after which they must make a right U-turn in {{wp|Piazza del Popolo}} leading to the finish line.

The course also appears as '''Rome Avanti R''' (reversed), '''Rome Avanti T''' (with ramps), and '''Rome Avanti R/T''' (reversed with ramps). In the R/T variant, racers use a [[Glide Ramp|glide ramp]] to exit the Colosseum while avoiding a pair of [[Fuzzy|Fuzzies]] on a [[track]].

Like in the first route, the course starts in {{wp|Via del Corso}}, this time facing {{wp|Piazza del Popolo}}. The player takes a right turn in Piazza del Popolo to enter {{wp|Piazza di Spagna}}, with the {{wp|Fontana della Barcaccia}} visible on the right, and then a slight left turn to the [[Spanish Steps]]. After going up the steps, the player takes a left turn and enters the {{wp|Villa Borghese gardens}} where they make a left U-turn around the lake near the {{wp|Temple of Aesculapius (Villa Borghese)|Temple of Aesculapius}}. Afterwards, the player returns to Piazza del Popolo, passing between the {{wp|Flaminio Obelisk}} and {{wp|Porta del Popolo}} to {{wp|Piazza Navona}}. In Piazza Navona, the player can either drive to the right or left of the center of the piazza while they avoid [[Rocky Wrench]]es. After the road meets up, the player passes through {{wp|Campo de' Fiori}}, where they must take a sharp left turn by either going around the {{wp|Monument to Giordano Bruno}} and avoiding some [[barrel]]s or taking a shortcut through the market. After driving though a thin road to the right of the {{wp|Bocca della Verità|Mouth of Truth}}, the player takes a right and left turn leading to the finish line.

The course also appears as '''Rome Avanti 2R''' (reversed), '''Rome Avanti 2T''' (with ramps), and '''Rome Avanti 2R/T''' (reversed with ramps). The course starts in {{wp|Via del Corso}}, facing the {{wp|Victor Emmanuel II Monument}}. Near the starting line, racers take a sharp left turn which takes them to a [[Glide Ramp|glide ramp]] to glide over the [[Trevi Fountain]]. Afterwards, the road turns right in {{wp|Trajan's Market}} and heads towards a metallic bridge in the [[Colosseum]] with two [[Chain Chomp]]s biting the sides. After exiting the Colosseum, the road takes racers to {{wp|Piazza del Campidoglio}}, where they take a right turn into another road leading to {{wp|Campo de' Fiori}}. After a sharp right turn in Campo de' Fiori, racers reach another glide ramp to glide over {{wp|Piazza Navona}}. Near the {{wp|Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi|Fountain of the Four Rivers}}' obelisk, there are two circular [[track]]s which each have a pair of [[Fuzzy|Fuzzies]] and surround groups of [[coin]]s. After taking a sharp right turn in {{wp|Piazza del Popolo}}, racers reach the finish line.

The course also appears as '''Rome Avanti 3R''' (reversed), '''Rome Avanti 3T''' (with ramps), and '''Rome Avanti 3R/T''' (reversed with ramps). In the T variant, the first gliding section is removed, racers drive over several [[Note Block]]s, there are two more tracks with Fuzzies near Trajan's Market, and there are two rolling Chain Chomps in Piazza Navona. In the R/T variant, both gliding sections are gone as well as all Chain Chomps and tracks with Fuzzies. Additionally, there are multicolored [[Water Geyser|water geysers]] in the Trevi Fountain.

Rome Avanti returns in ''[[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe]]'', as part of the sixth and final wave of the [[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass|Booster Course Pass]] DLC. It is the first course of the [[Acorn Cup]]. The course has vast visual improvements and upgrades compared to its ''[[Mario Kart Tour]]'' appearance. Like other ''Mario Kart Tour'' city-courses, this iteration of the track combines the course's three routes together into one continuous route that occupies three laps. The fallen columns in the {{wp|Roman Forum}}, as well as the stairs under the {{wp|Arch of Septimius Severus}}, have been removed. {{wp|Piazza del Campidoglio}} has been fully opened up on both laps it is traversed. The [[Trevi Fountain]] is now properly flowing, rather than being static as in ''Mario Kart Tour'', and its waters can now be driven through as an [[Underwater driving|underwater section]]. The [[Glide Ramp]] in {{wp|Piazza Navona}} has been made smaller. The [[Rocky Wrench]]es have been redesigned, now sporting their original designs from ''[[Super Mario Bros. 3]]''. The [[Swoop]]s in the [[Colosseum]] have been removed. The minimap has also been rotated 180 degrees.

Lap 1 initially follows the first route of the course; however, after exiting Piazza del Campidoglio, players take a left turn to enter {{wp|Campo de' Fiori}},  followed by Piazza Navona and {{wp|Piazza del Popolo}}, where players take a right turn to the finish line. Lap 2 begins with a right turn in {{wp|Piazza Venezia}} that takes players back to Piazza del Popolo, where they then follow the second route of the course. After exiting the {{wp|Villa Borghese gardens}}, players take a left turn around the {{wp|Flaminio Obelisk}} to reach the finish line and start lap 3, which follows the course's third route.

Internally, the course is referred to as "Cnsw_54", implying it may have originally been intended to be the last course of the [[Feather Cup]].

Rome Avanti is the only ''Mario Kart Tour'' city-course to not appear in the credits for the Booster Course Pass DLC.

Rome Avanti is one of three ''Mario Kart Tour'' courses in Wave 6, alongside [[Piranha Plant Cove]] and {{classic-link|Tour|Madrid Drive}}.
