The Top Secret Area is a hidden area filled with power-ups that Mario and Luigi can use in Super Mario World. The area is situated behind the Donut Ghost House, and it is unlocked by finding the secret exit in that Ghost House. This level functions similarly to the Toad Houses, and leaving the level will not end the player's turn. The Top Secret Area has a yellow space on the world map, but in the remake, a smiling, blushing green hill is shown instead.
The Top Secret Area is a level filled with power-ups able for use by Mario and Luigi during the events of Super Mario World. The area is situated behind the Ghost House of the Donut Plains. To unlock it, the player must find the secret exit to the level Donut Ghost House. Exiting this level will not end the player's turn in two-player mode.

Overview
The level consists of a single area with five Prize Blocks. The two Prize Blocks on the left hold Fire Flowers, and the two on the right hold Cape Feathers (when Small Mario or Small Luigi hits the Prize Blocks, he will get a Super Mushroom first). A Yoshi Egg will appear when the center Prize Block is hit (a 1-Up Mushroom appears if the player already has a Yoshi). This level contains no enemies, and it can be accessed an infinite number of times, allowing Mario and Luigi to acquire the maximum number of extra lives. In the original version, the Top Secret Area has no time limit, but in the Game Boy Advance remake, there is a time limit of 200 seconds. All Yoshi colors are available in the remake except in the Japanese version, depending on the specific power-up Mario or Luigi has. The player can leave the area through either the left or the right exit.

Trivia
*The level's location icon changes in the two versions. The SNES version had it as a yellow space, but the GBA remake had a happy bush.

*Besides Yoshi's House, the Top Secret Area is the only level in the game that cannot be "completed" (in a way that changes the progress on the file select screen).

*The Top Secret Area acts similar to the Toad Houses of other games, as it contains free powerups for Mario to use.
