'''To the Top of the Fortress''' is the second mission of [[Whomp's Fortress]] in ''[[Super Mario 64]]'' and ''[[Super Mario 64 DS]]''. The mission's goal is to reach the top to reach the [[Power Star]]. It can be completed only after the [[Chip Off Whomp's Block|previous mission]] is completed.

==Layout==
The Power Star is located on top of a tall tower, which was not there during the previous mission. After the player climbs up to the [[platform]] where the [[Whomp King]] was fought, the player then has to use the platform that circles the tower to reach the peak while avoiding homing [[Bullet Bill]]s. Some of the ledges extend and retract out of the tower. The final platform raises the player to a small balcony that holds the Power Star.
