| | Tick Tock Clock is the fourteenth course in Super Mario 64 and its slightly enhanced remake, Super Mario 64 DS that takes place inside a giant clock. Mario must deal with the clock's moving gears, pendulums, and other obstacles that change speed depending on what position the clock's minute hand is in when he jumps into the level. Tick Tock Clock is the second to last level in both games and is found on the third floor of Peach's Castle. It also was remade into a race course that appears in the Star Cup of Mario Kart DS. |

| | The entrance to the level is an old grandfather clock, and the minute hand controls the time inside. Enter when the hand points at 12, and all moving parts will freeze. Enter between just after 12 and just before 6 to make them move slowly, between just after 6 and just before 12 to make them move quickly, and 6 to make them move at random speeds, in random directions. In order to open the star door in front of it, Mario will need at least 50 Power Stars. |

| Tick Tock Clock is the fourteenth course in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS. To access the course, the player needs to open the Big Star Door on the third floor of the Mushroom Castle with 50 Power Stars. The entrance to Tick Tock Clock is the face of the large grandfather clock. Based on when the player jumps into the clock (rounded to the nearest quarter hour), the speeds of the internal clockworks change: Entering when the minute hand is nearest "12" makes everything stop, entering near "3" makes everything move slowly, entering near "6" makes everything move randomly and change speeds frequently, and entering near "9" makes everything move quickly. If time is not still, several platforms will turn, move, or flip; conveyor belts will move; and pendulums and the large hands will swing. | | ==Power Stars== |
| | ===Roll Into the Cage=== |
| | From the enterace, Mario should head past the fist swing pedulum over the conveyor belt and then pass the climb shifting blocks. After, Mario should pass by the large plane where the moving hand may pass. Continuing on, Mario should see the power star near a conveyor belt underneith the cage like grid. |
| | |
| | ===The Pit and the Pendulums=== |
| | For this mission, Mario should follow the same path as in the previous mission. This time however, Mario should contine past the cage. Once Mario reaches the top of the pole, he should head left. Eventually he'll come to a place that contains two pedulums. Navigating his way through, he'll reach the next powerstar. |
| | |
| | ===Get a Hand=== |
| | This time, Mario should re-enter the stage making sure not to have the clock's minute hand on 12. He will need to have the clock moving. The player should have Mario travel up to the large platform and wait for the large hand to to pass by. Mario will need to jump onto it and ride it until it brings him to the little alcove with the Power Star in it. |

| Tick Tock Clock appears to be changed more than any other level in the DS remake, with many areas altered for easier difficulty, removing elements such as the triangular blocks and fog effects, and repositioning several areas of the level. It is one of two courses with both a Switch Star and Silver Stars, the other being Shifting Sand Land.
| | ===Stomp On the Thwomp=== |
| | For Mario to acquire this star, Mario will need to proceed to accend up the path to the flagpole. Once he has climbed it, Mario should head left and follow his way up around the clock. Eventually he'll reach where there is another clock hand (Note: the clock parts must be in motion). Riding it will take him to a conveyor belt with a Thwomp at the end. Jumping atop if it will take mario high enough to jump the next star. |

|
| Tick Tock Clock is referenced in various other games. It receives a racetrack in Mario Kart DS, and it returns in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The Mario Party 3 minigame Tick Tock Hop takes place on the clock's painting from Super Mario 64; the minigame returns in Mario Party Superstars. In the Super Mario Mash-up in Minecraft, there is a painting of the entrance to Tick Tock Clock. Luigi's Top Gear Sentry weapon in Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle references Tick Tock Clock, as the description mentions that the gear wheels on the weapon were taken from an old clocktower at Peach's Castle.

| |
| The player starts at the base of the clock's mechanics. In the DS version, there is additional ground around the base of the clock, and Bob-ombs fall and attack the player in this area. To the left of the starting area are several ascending rotating bars that spin if time is not still, along with a Spinning Heart below them; the rotating bars lead up to the area with the first rotating hand and are where all of the Red Coins are placed. In front of the player's starting position is a large pendulum followed by a conveyor belt and a square flipping block. Afterward is another pendulum followed by a ramp leading to three square flipping blocks, followed by the platform that the earlier rotating bars lead to; it has a large clock hand swinging around nearby that brings the player to the third Power Star. This platform has a yellow block with coins, as well as a flame thrower nearby.
| |
|
| |
|
| After the clock hand are several hexagonal flipping blocks leading to a caged Power Star, followed by a small lift above, then a pole with an Amp circling it. After the player climbs up the pole, the path splits: To the left are a Heave-Ho and an area with a triangular flipping block and two pendulums, leading to the second Power Star. To the right of the pole are a lift (or two lifts in the DS version) leading farther up the clock. Above the lift(s) are flipping blocks leading upward, with a mesh floor with Moving Bars to the right of them. Up the flipping blocks is a bending platform with Moving Bars placed under a cage that contains a yellow block full of coins. Afterward, a couple of conveyor belts lead to a long bending platform with several rotating bars and triangular flipping blocks (or square flipping blocks in the DS version) breaking it up, and a large platform is in the middle. At the top of the bending platform is another clock hand that can bring the player to an area with a Thwomp, which can carry the player to the fourth Power Star.
| | ===Stop Time For Red Coins=== |
| left
| | Heading right from the enterance, Mario should see many green bars and a bunch of redcoins. Normally the platforms would be rotating but if Mario was to enter the level when the minute hand was on 12, they will be stationary (making it much easier to get the coins). After the last coin is found, the power star will appear above the Star Marker |

| {|class="wikitable"text-align="center"
| | This mission replaces the Roll into the cage mission in Super Mario 64. It is esscentally the same except only Luigi can be used to get it. When he reaches the cage, there will be no entrance but a ? Block will be available. Opening it will reviel a Power Flower which grants Luigi invisibility. Luigi will be able to walk through the cage and get the star. |

| | |
| Tick Tock Clock Painting.png | | Tick Tock Clock is a course in Mario Kart DS. It is modeled after the course Tick Tock Clock of Super Mario 64. Near the start of the course, the racers will run around a first clock, where they can take a speed boost by running over some Dash Panels. After the clock, an ever ticking pendulum can knock the drivers off if they collide with it. Throughout the course there are rotating gears, which lead the karts in 360˚ arcs around the center. Racers then go to a second clock, smaller than the first one, having Item Boxes moving around. At the end of the course the are many gears protruding from the ground like tires, which spin in opposite directions of each other. If the drivers go up the gear which is turning away from them, then drivers will run slightly faster. All gears in the course change direction every 50 seconds. Clock hands are another obstacle that would spin back and forth, spinning out any kart that touches them. Missions 6-6, along with 7-4 are located here. |

| *In the N64 version, the last used speed of the clock can be seen in the credits. In the DS version, it always appears to be moving at the speed when the clock is entered at the number 3; the same applies to the N64 version if it has not been visited by the player.
