The '''Thunder Bolt''' is an attack item in the [[Paper Mario (series)|''Paper Mario'' series]], first appearing in ''[[Paper Mario]]'' and returning in ''[[Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door]]''. On use, this item summons a bolt of lightning that inflicts five lightning-elemental damage to a single enemy and, in ''[[Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door]]'', the description makes the claim that this item has a chance of [[Immobilized|stunning]] an enemy, however, this is untrue. If it is used on lightning-related enemies such as [[Ruff Puff]]s, the enemies will be [[Heart Point|healed]]. It has a stronger equivalent, [[Thunder Rage]], which deals the same amount of damage but targets all enemies. Thunder Bolts also appear in ''[[Paper Mario: Sticker Star]]'' in the [[Battle Spin]]. If three of them are lined up, the [[dizzy]] status effect is inflicted on Mario's enemies.
