'''The Shadow Lining''' is the second mission of the [[Cloudy Court Galaxy]] in ''[[Super Mario Galaxy 2]]''. In order to play this mission, the [[Comet Medal]] must have been collected in the [[Head in the Clouds (mission)|previous mission]] and when a [[Prankster Comet]] is in orbit. The player must clear this mission to unlock the rest of the [[Prankster Comet#Clone Comet|Clone Comet]]s and [[Prankster Comet#Purple Comet|Purple Comet]]s.{{ref needed}}

==Mission==
The player starts on a small platform, which will spawn two more platforms next to it. As the player moves along these platforms, more platforms will appear in front of them, while the platforms behind them disappear. The player needs to collect five [[Star Chip]]s along these platforms, while also avoiding [[Cosmic Clone]]s that spawn with the first four. (The Cosmic Clones are destroyed when Mario gets the last Star Chip.) The player can [[List of Super Mario Galaxy 2 glitches|slowly approach a Star Chip and then grab it by just barely touching it to prevent a Cosmic Clone from spawning]].<ref>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ss00G5l2XEc</ref> The Star Chips will form a [[Launch Star]] that will send the player to the next planet. Here, they need to avoid more Cosmic Clones while [[Wall Jump]]ing up and [[jump]]ing across more disappearing and reappearing platforms. The Launch Star at the end will take the player to a platform with the [[Power Star]] trapped in a [[Crystal (Super Mario Galaxy)|crystal]], which the player needs to break by [[spin]]ning while still avoiding Cosmic Clones, which die when Mario destroys the crystal.
