It is unlocked by completing [[Current Event]] and its own completion unlocks [[Superstar Road]] and the [[Secret Island]]. This is the only level in the game that shares the same name with its ''[[New Super Mario Bros. U]]'' [[The Final Battle (New Super Mario Bros. U)|counterpart]].

==Layout==
Luigi starts on a platform as he watches [[Bowser Jr.]] slam down on a bone platform in his [[Junior Clown Car]], and he continuously does this throughout the level. The bone platform then sinks, then the level starts. Two [[Magmaw]]s are in the [[lava]]. A [[Red Ring]] follows, and after three bone platforms, the first [[Star Coin]] is then found. Multiple bone platforms appear after that, along with two Magmaws. A row of [[? Block]]s are then found, followed by another row of bone platforms. Then, a door appears. This leads to the green doors. Entering the green doors gives Luigi an extra 250 seconds.

Luigi must work his way through the corridor, with [[Bowser]]'s fireballs coming from offscreen. Luigi then faces Bowser. Luigi must hit the [[! Switch]] on the other side of Bowser, causing him to fall. Luigi progresses in saving [[Princess Peach]]. Meanwhile, [[Kamek|Magikoopa]] (assisted by Bowser Jr.) puts a spell on Bowser, which makes him huge. Luigi makes his way up stairs, and notices Princess Peach in a tower. She calls for Luigi, but bars trap her, along with a wall covering the window with the Bowser Jr. logo. Bowser Jr. then comes up, laughs at Luigi, then flies up to allow the gigantic Bowser to hop up.

To damage him, Luigi must wait for Bowser Jr. to slam down in his Junior Clown Car. He must then [[jump]] on him, knocking him out. Then he must hop in and Luigi must press {{button|wiiu|ZR}} to go higher. Then, when at Bowser's head, Luigi must press {{button|wiiu|B}} to slam down. Bowser will then go into his shell, and slide about, occasionally going higher, so Luigi can run under him. Bowser will soon pop out, breathing fire in the air. Luigi must complete this action three times to defeat Bowser. Bowser Jr. then looks humiliated, and then jumps down to see Bowser.
