Congratulations to Marshal Dan Troop for winning Section of the Month for October! His Trivia sections cover the little-known facts of the Mario series, and earned the most votes from last month's readers. Well readers, something terrible has happened. In my 53 years of active military service in the Mariowiki army, I have never made a tactical decision as big as this one. I have become a Bills fan and as such I have doomed myself to a life of misery and will rarely, if ever, taste playoffs. But enough about me and my mistakes, let's get on with the show.

Banjo the Honey Bear is the fuzzy hero of Banjo-Kazooie series. He lives with his sister Tooty and his feathery friend Kazooie at the base of Spiral Mountain. Gruntilda the witch begins a long-standing feud after she kidnaps Tooty to steal her beauty and the Banjo-Kazooie duo foils her plans. Banjo has a kind heart but is generally lazy, which is contrasted by Kazooie's sassy attitude and willingness to adventure. Although his main adventures began in the video game Banjo-Kazooie, he previously helped Diddy Kong defeat Wizpig in Diddy Kong Racing. Wario Land II is the 1998 follow-up to Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 and was released for both the Game Boy and as a launch title for the Game Boy Color. Captain Syrup returns to get revenge on Wario, who stole her treasure in the events of the first game. Now the yellow-clad thief must reclaim all of his valuables in this platforming adventure! Each of the five worlds– called "chapters"– contain five levels– called "stories"– which Wario must travel through and best several challenges, puzzles and even unlock secret worlds in order to complete his quest. The game was well-received by critics, though there were some complaints due to the protagonist's inability to get hurt: the challenge is in 100% completion and collecting items, not simply dodging enemies.
