The 'Shroom:Issue LXXXIV/Pipe Plaza
Director's Notes (Paper Yoshi (talk))And it's the "next month" already!! Welcome to the March Issue of Pipe Plaza, everyone! Once again, there is no news for this month, so it's time for... Section of the Month!Forget what I said about having no news for you, because last month's Section of the Month poll marked a first in the Pipe Plaza team. It got a total of 8 votes (be sure to vote in this issue's poll!), which were exactly divided between two sections. The February Sections of the Month, with 4 votes each (50% of the total), are... ...Featured and Tip of the Month, for the first time ever for both!!! Yoshi876 (talk), who writes Featured, presents readers with details regarding the Featured Articles process every month. Those include, but aren't limited to, the articles which have recently reached FA status, as well as the ones facing an unfeaturing process at the time of writing. FunkyK38 (talk), on the other hand, gives readers a helpful tip to aid them on venturing the different aspects of the Super Mario Wiki each and every month on Tip of the Month. That's all for now, readers! I hope you enjoy this issue!! P.S.: Once again, be sure to cast your vote in this month's poll! Monthly Report (Paper Yoshi (talk))Hello, everyone, and welcome to the March Issue of Monthly Report!! Unlike the previous months, I actually have something to tell you regarding this section, so that's certainly a plus. :P As you can see in the first table, I have changed the date in which I collect the statistics, moving it to the first of each month, in order to get an accurate monthly overview of the statistics, showing the data from the preceding month's end. Well, that's all for now! Let's check the stats from January, mid-February and late-February, followed by comparisons between those sets of stats: (Credit goes to Stooben Rooben (talk) and Super Mario Bros. (talk) for the table coding. Stooben originally created it when writing this section back in Issues XXIII, XXV and XXVI, and SMB based his coding for Issues XXXIX, XL and XLI – which I am using in this issue – off of Stooben's coding.)
Featured (Yoshi876 (talk))Hello, Shroom readers, for those of you with a nervous disposition or a weak heart, skip this section because the amount of articles nominated and featured this month may just blow your mind, scare you silly or give you a heart attack. Featured ArticlesFour new articles have been featured in the past month.
Re-Featured ArticlesNo new articles have become refeatured. FA NominationsThere are six ongoing Featured Article Nominations.
Failed FA NominationsNo new articles have failed the unfeaturing process. Unfeatured ArticlesNo new articles have become unfeatured. Unfeaturing NominationsThere are seven ongoing Unfeaturing Nominations.
Failed Unfeaturing NominationsNo new articles have failed the unfeaturing process. Thanks for reading see you next month, provided you made it through all of that. Tip of the Month (FunkyK38 (talk))When writing articles, remember to write objectively and only state factual information, not personal opinions. The wiki is a place for information, and your preferences on games and characters can be addressed in the forums or on chat. Community Report (Driftmaster130 (talk))Hey folks, this is Driftmaster130, new Community Report writer after YoshiKong (talk) left his position. Welcome to the March issue, here's what's been going on at the wiki lately: YoshiKong, who previously wrote this section retired from his admin position on the wiki in early February. Best of luck to you in real life YK. Also, some updates were made to the wiki's policy: First, MarioWiki:Good writing was changed to address the "Captain Obvious" issue, meaning editors should try not to explain what can already be easily assumed from the article. Going indepth with small puns that make up an article name are also discouraged. And secondly, the arbitrary rule in MarioWiki:Featured articles stating that an article must be 9000 bytes or more to be nominated, was removed. ... Now for the proposals which recently ended: (credit to YoshiKong for previously developing this coded table system)
And for the TPP's (Talk Page Proposals) that recently came to a close:
The TPP's that are currently ongoing:
NOTE:All stats and figures included in this section were correct as of March 7th. And that's all for the March edition of Community Report! |
