Hello, all you readers of The 'Shroom! It's October, and you know what that means! It's spooky month! It's time for bats and specters, spiderwebs and the brooms of witches, carved pumpkins and crunching autumn leaves! Of course, we already have a ghost carrying a broom around in the headquarters, Quizmelon already has the "carved produce" angle covered, and I think there are a lot of cobwebs down in the archives... Maybe we should do something about that soon... Still, though, bats are a unique addition to the HQ! Nothing around here even remotely resembles them! Except... I guess... Meta Knight's wings...
Okay, okay, I might have to rethink the Halloween plans. I knew I should have asked Anton for decorating tips... That's alright, though! Who's even going to notice it amidst all the work that'll be happening here soon? We are one month out from issue 200, which means things are going to be plenty busy here over the next few weeks! That also means that all of you have a little under one month until the deadline for issue 200 submissions on November 11th! Our thanks go out to all of you who have already sent submissions in, but we can take plenty more! Don't miss your opportunity to play a part in this community milestone! If this community or this paper have brought you any joy over the years, please, consider sending something in. It's because of your engagement and the sections you have sent in over the years that we've made it this far, and it would be wonderful to get to have you as a part of the celebrations! Write up a section, follow the instructions in the yellow box on the sign up page and send an application to our Statistics Manager, Meta Knight!
If you need any assistance, or are unsure about your idea, reach out, and we can and will help you out! We can look over what you've written and give you feedback, offer tips for organizing an idea, help you out with wiki formatting, and even help you out with some editing if you need it. We're here to be of service! Remember, you can write about just about anything you'd like, within reason. Tell us about something you've studied! Share your favorite game with us! Show us some neat art you've made! Write about, or even review, a song you like! Make it you!
That's going to be all from me, for now. I've got to go and prepare some things for... redecorating purposes. After Halloween decorating went so poorly, it's vital to get this redecorating done right. I'll turn it over to Waluigi Time for now! Enjoy the issue!

Hello there, spooky 'Shroom readers! Pitohui's attempts to get the headquarters into the Halloween spirit may not have worked out so well, but you know what? I think he was just going decoration shopping in all the wrong places. I'll keep these notes brief since I think I have to go make a run to the mall after this. I wish I didn't have to drive so far, though.
It's getting to be that time of year where we decide who gets to keep all the fun stuff in this community running for the next year instead of catching on fire! The annual Awards Director Election is next month, so if you're interested in leading the Mario Awards proceedings for 2024, be sure to consider running in that! We also have the 'Shroom Director Election coming up in December, and later on in February, the first Poll Chairperson Election on the new schedule! There's no shortage of things to run for, so if you think you'd like to give back to this community and try running for one of these positions, now's a good time to start thinking about that!
Issue 200 next month! Woo! Write stuff!
