The 'Shroom:Issue 164/The 'Shroom Spotlight
Hello readers of The 'Shroom, and welcome to Spotlight. Spotlight is a community project which aims to fix up the articles on the wiki which have issues. These issues can range from poor writing to a lack of images, to even just needing a credible source.
Welcome to November's edition of the Spotlight! This year has certainly been a crazy one, but in some areas it does feel like it's starting to mellow out in places. I'm not sure about you, but so far November has felt a little bit calm, at least these more recent days have. Of course, 2020 is still throwing some curveballs our way, but we'll make it through and make 2021 a total success. Like we might do with this edition of Spotlight!
Hey all! Check out the new portrait of Yoshi876 and I! I'm using my own character, Stephan, as my 'Shroom representative. The design actually came from BBQ Turtle (talk), who drew Stephan wearing Mario clothing for her Anniversary Presentation, so thanks to her for the idea inspiration and to The Pyro Guy (talk) for drawing the new portrait! Looks great!
Anyway, for last month's focuses, a majority of them got done! The Mansion (talk) created Beneath the Keep, DarkNight (talk) added the missing information for Boo Buddies, and Mini Boo's expansion was a joint effort by The Mansion, DarkNight, and LinkTheLefty (talk). Yoshi the SSM (talk) also added an image of the Bone Thwomp in the Airway, though we're still missing proper sprites, and Bat (Super Mario Galaxy) and File:SM3DW Shifty Boo Mansion Icon.png ultimately went undone.
And now onto this month's focuses:

| Our cartoon coverage is usually adequate, but there are some gaping holes in there. One of which is that we don't have an article for Michael Stark, who voiced Kooky von Koopa (think Ludwig) in the DIC cartoons. Seeing as we all know Ludwig is the best Koopaling, we should get an article for the voice actor. | ||
| I guess someone got hit with the Mute spell themselves, because the article went unfinished. There's no Magic Power involved since it's not a direct attack, but we could use exactly when Peach learns this move. Avoiding use of the word "enough" and replacing it with exact details would also be good. Maybe what enemies the spell can't effect as well, if any. | ||
| We're often on patrol around here for level articles that need a bit more description than what they've currently gotten, and we've found this level from Yoshi's New Island which could certainly do with an expansion. | ||
| If anyone has the instruction booklet for GBA Donkey Kong Country, we could use what page in the booklet the quoted text is in. | ||
| It's a good thing to use images to explain things and make it easier to understand what a glitch can do. This list of Paper Mario: Sticker Star glitches has absolutely none. I don't expect an image for every glitch on the page, but a few would be good. | ||
| There are certainly a lot of masks in this image, bit that's not why the quality needs to be improved. It certainly needs to be a lot less hazy and a lot sharper! |
Now just before I leave you, I'd like to tell you about unimplemented proposals. There are currently twenty that need to be implemented, one of which dates back to 2015, so think of this as a continuous Spotlight goal until they're all completed.
