Hello, 'Shroom readers! It's the second to last issue of the year, and we've got some good content for you! Not much, we're still in the rest period between Issues 150 and 153, but it's worth reading, for sure! A reminder to all readers and prospective writers that Issue 153, our Holiday Special, will have a DK theme this year - if you want to write but don't know what to write about, why not look into the big monkey? Of course, if you want to write and DO know what you want to write about, then write it anyway! A theme is far from exclusive!

On the note of elections, the Awards Director Election is this month, in case you have any urge to be responsible for the Mario Awards of 2020. And next month, we've got the annual 'Shroom Director Election! If you think you want to run the 'Shroom in 2020, then just put your name in the hat and see if you get picked! That's about all I have to cover, so you should go ahead and start reading the issue!

Hello fellow earthlings, and welcome to the November issue! Thanksgiving for me is coming up, and I've got several things to be thankful for. I'm thankful for my friends, thankful to our writers for giving us a solid issue, thankful for my health. I'll also be thankful if I make it through the end of the year without freezing to death!

Yeah I really don't have anything interesting or important to say. I suggest go reading something before I start boring you to sleep. Enjoy, and see you guys next month!

Staff Section of the Month for October 2019

STAFF-VOTED SECTION OF THE MONTH
Place Section Writer Reasoning
1st Anton's Half-Baked Reviews Hypnotoad (talk) Pumpkin spice, as laid out in the introduction, is a pretty heavily... for lack of a better word, meme hatred target. It's considered hip to mock pumpkin spice, so pumpkin spice is mocked. We appreciate that Anton's review is neither falling into that trap, or aggressively going the other way, and instead is simply his own experiences with pumpkin spice. It's a refreshing take that's worth talking about.
2nd AlphaDream Retrospective YoshiFlutterJump (talk) For anyone interested on an overview of the Mario and Luigi series and a look at how AlphaDream's Mario RPGs evolved over time, this is article makes for an excellent start. It manages to go into detail on the evolution of the series' gameplay and the directions its developers took when confronted with transitions between systems, graphical styles, and gameplay modes, all the while avoiding sounding like a list or an encyclopedia entry. The writing style brings together this examination of the series over the years.
2nd Mach Speed Mayhem Superchao (talk) We want to highlight a section that already displays quality and dedication for going the extra mile this month. It took some legwork to go to the original Japanese to see if the inconsistencies in the English name of Pico's vehicle were errors introduced in localization or if there was actually a minor retcon. It's this kind of extra effort that makes Mach Speed Mayhem not only a quality 'Shroom section, but an excellent and credible F-Zero resource. and earns it a vote this month.
3rd Rising Sun Reviews Hooded Pitohui (talk) His reviews might be long and wordy, but Pitohui has a way to keep you reading even when he's put massive lengthy sections into the 'Shroom. Engaging and continuing the flow of the reader's interest. You can tell that Pitohui really enjoys the series that he's talking about here, and the passion comes across extremely well.
4th It's aMAZEing Lakituthequick (talk) We appreciate and want to acknowledge that LTQ took a consistently quality section and went above and beyond in giving it some extra character and flair this month.
5th Interview Superchao (talk) As usual, Perch delivers a really interesting interview. This section is always a fun read, and you can tell that both interviewer and interviewee are enjoying their time, in this edition especially. Plus, it's always nice to learn more about those who you might not know too much about.
Congratulations to all of our writers for their amazing work!
