Hello, 'Shroom readers! I hate September.

Anyhow, enjoy a super special issue packed with all sorts of special features! Including the first Staff Collaboration since Issue 100 and only the third total, our Super Mario Odyssey Travel Guide! Twelve of our current staff and one past consultant teamed up to write seventeen small sections to guide you around the myriad kingdoms. Feel free to guess who wrote what, and if you score 100%, you get our admiration! And thank you to Edo for the amazing front page banner!

Now I can rest in peace.

Superchao, Director

Hi everyone! September has been a busy month, and I don't have too much to say this time, but we have a lot of fantastic sections for our special 150th issue! I'd like to extend my thanks to everyone who worked hard to make this issue a reality, and I hope you all enjoy reading it. I'll see you again next time where I'll hopefully be able to write a little more!

Staff Section of the Month for August 2019

STAFF-VOTED SECTION OF THE MONTH
Place Section Writer Reasoning
1st Anton's Half-Baked Reviews Hypnotoad (talk) Instead of going to some of the more fancy establishments, Anton dives deep into the places "regular" tourists don't go, giving insight in a different aspect of NYC. The same usual informative and engaging writing style which reflects plenty of research and and personal experience which goes beyond visiting just the usual tourist sites is present. This edition in particular really benefits from having a strong organizational structure that focuses Anton's trip into manageable smaller pieces and lets him focus in on reflecting on each location or story.
2nd Mach Speed Mayhem Superchao (talk) Perch describes the duo and their shenanigans in the typical quirky way, and his being able to speak from personal experience with the F-Zero games does help to add even more depth to an already thorough section. It provides just a little more detail of the kind that even a spectacularly written Wiki article, were it pit there, couldn't cover. We also appreciate his willingness to point out interesting and plausible connections between the F-Zero cast while firmly drawing a line between the more encyclopedic main portion of his section and what is ultimately only - if fairly plausible because GX rarely overlooked details - speculation.
3rd Mario's Boombox Hooded Pitohui (talk) Pitohui showcases a song from the Japanese fandom many people in the west may not recognize, and does a very good job of describing it and its history. Mario's Boombox is a neat analysis of the tropes in typical Mario songs, and the different styles covered.
4th NIWA Spotlight Alex95 (talk) We have to appreciate the effort Alex has consistently put in to adding a little personality to this section. He could just tell readers what to do and send them off, but he fits in little game-relevant sketches which don't detract from getting to the point of the project. In addition, the section really benefits from his broad range of experience with Nintendo games and his attentiveness to projects all across NIWA. His knowledge comes through clearly.
Congratulations to all of our writers for their amazing work!
