The 'Shroom:Issue 141/The 'Shroom Spotlight
Hello readers of The 'Shroom, and welcome to Spotlight. Spotlight is a community project which aims to fix up the articles on the wiki which have issues. These issues can range from poor writing, to a lack of images, to even just needing a credible source.
Welcome to this Christmas edition of The 'Shroom Spotlight, and as we're in the midst of Winter all of our focuses will be around the theme of hot and cold, although mostly the latter. Hopefully we won't get frozen out, especially as we had a very successful month last time around.
Although the article is classed as a stub, LuigiMaster123 (talk) created Megafruit Paradise, but on the subject of stubs, TheFlameChomp (talk) added a layout section to The Plain. Alex95 (talk) had a busy month last time, as not only did he rewrite and improve the general structure of Francis, he also found all the sources needed for Big Daddy of Blooper-surfing, which was initially just called Big Daddy. And finally Scrooge200 (talk) uploaded a much clearer version of :File:Ring Planet Lava.jpg. The only focus that wasn't completed was Regional coin which is still missing the Mushroom Kingdom variant.
And now onto this month's focuses:
Article | Category | Focuses |

Poochy Run is one of the best game modes ever introduced, due to it hailing our Lord and Saviour Poochy. However, it is blasphemy against him that we don't have any articles on its levels. Let's fix that up by starting with the Ice-themed Bobsledding Peaks.
Bowser's iconic move seems to have burnt all the information surrounding its appearance in Super Mario Strikers. All it tells us is that it appears, but what effect does it have on opposing, or potentially non-opposing players? Additional images would also be a bonus.
Like many of our focuses in the past few months, the issue that needs fixing up here is a lack of a layout section. It has obstacles and takes place on a frozen lake, but where does the track go? Just look at Rainbow Road for a standard to aim for.
There's a source for both Chars to be capitalized, but we don't have a source for the second Char to be lowercase. Find that source, or move the article.
As often as theatres go dark when it's time to watch the movie, we at Mario Wiki would prefer a brighter, less blurry image. Now this image seems to come from Fahr Outpost, but any image of Luigi in the audience is acceptable.
A triple-whammy with this focus. Not only do we need more images of Snowball Valley from both the N64 and DS remake, but it also requires expansion, mostly around where the balloons are found. |
Now just before I leave you, I'd like to tell you about the NIWA Spotlight. This is a project being run by Alex95 (talk) and can be found in this paper's Pipe Plaza section. Much like this Spotlight, the NIWA Spotlight aims to fix up articles across various Nintendo franchises, that are all part of our NIWA group. I'd also like to tell you about unimplemented proposals. There are currently 13, which is four less than last month, that need to be implemented, some of which date back to 2015, so think of this as a continuous Spotlight goal until they're all completed.
Thanks for tuning in to the newest edition of The 'Shroom Spotlight! Be sure to turn up next month, where we'll be reviewing the progress on the above focuses. If you have any questions or suggestions about this month's set of article focuses, then please get in touch through the dedicated topic if you have a forum account. If not, then please contact myself on my wiki talk page. You are also welcome to make suggestions on what you think we could focus on in our next edition. Thank you, and good luck!
