Porplemontage has decided that it's better to just go ahead with the change.
It's kind of bizarre that we treat all audio files the same, since clearly some are music samples and some are audio clips. Therefore, I propose that this template be split into {{music-sample}} and {{sound-clip}}, and update MediaWiki:Licenses to reflect the change.

Support[edit]
- Archivist Toadette (talk) Per proposal.
- Keyblade Master (talk) As long as it's not too much of a hassle
- Mister Wu (talk) "Musical recording" doesn't seem very fitting for a sound clip, so I agree.
- Scrooge200 (talk) This'd be more accurate. Also, would we split per-game media files categories between music and sound clips?

Comments[edit]
@Keyblade Master: It shouldn't; all that would need to be done is make the wording differ slightly between the two templates. (T|C) 08:23, April 20, 2021 (EDT)
@Scrooge200: Yes, we would. (T|C) 17:32, April 20, 2021 (EDT)
Porplemontage went ahead with it already. Nightwicked Bowser 07:15, April 21, 2021 (EDT)
