Hi, i was wondering if a article can be made for WildBrain as they currently own and distribute the DiC Mario cartoons.

Proposer: MarioKartFan4863927 (talk)
Deadline: December 28, 2023, 23:59 GMT

Support[edit]

Oppose[edit]

  1. Mario (talk) Too weak of a reason to justify creating a page that's only tangential to the wiki's coverage.
  2. Killer Moth (talk) Same reasoning as to why I oppose creating articles for Netflix and Hulu. Simply distributing the show does not warrant an article.
  3. Camwoodstock (talk) After giving it thought, in the absense of the compelling argument for a YouTube article in the form of actual Mario presence on the platform outside of the DiC cartoons, basically none of the other articles really make sense to have their own article; they'd all basically amount to one or two sentences, anyways. (Yes, we're gonna be copy-pasting this one a bit... Sorry.)
  4. Swallow (talk) Per all
  5. Biggestman (talk) Per all. We do not need any of these. I will copy and paste this for all of them.

Comments[edit]

Hello MarioKartFan48632927, do not make 8 Talk Page Proposals at the same time, and if you do then at least follow the format. It is currently impossible to vote on these. BiggestManMario dead in the arcade version of Donkey Kong 09:24, December 14, 2023 (EST)

This absolutely didn't need to be 8 talk page proposals, for the record--a blanket "Make articles for video distributors" would've done just as good. We've gone ahead and added the Support/Oppose/Comments to these, but like, please do that yourself in the future. (Also, for the record, you need to also voice your own support per your own proposal in the voting! We are obviously not you, so we can't do that ourselves.) ~Camwoodstock (talk) 11:49, December 14, 2023 (EST)
Should also mention that the deadline for all these proposals is on December 18... four days after the creation of all of them. Regular proposals should last at least a week, and talk page proposals at least two weeks. I think MarioKartFan hasn't really paid attention to our Proposal rules. I would've excused it if they freshly joined the wiki, but they've been here since December 2020. ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits) 14:26, December 14, 2023 (EST)
Looking at their contribs, we think this is their first actual involvement in any proposals; before this was sporadic activity spanning 2020 to present, on-and-off editing Mario Kart and DiC Mario articles. While it's obviously not our call to say if this is excusable or not, we at least understand why they probably didn't understand how these work. Though, yes, the deadlines need to be adjusted as well, now that you mention it... ;P ~Camwoodstock (talk) 14:43, December 14, 2023 (EST)

We're honestly a little on the fence about this one, seeing as while they do own the DiC Mario cartoons, that's... All they really do. Sure, Hamster Corporation distributes the Arcade Archives compilation games, but currently they have just a link to their Wikipedia. While we wouldn't be opposed if we, say, gave Hamster Corporation and all these video publishers articles in some move to create more articles for publishers, only doing so for the highly specific group of publishers that have had their proverbial fingers in the DiC Mario pie feels strange. ~Camwoodstock (talk) 11:49, December 14, 2023 (EST)
