The Warp Box and Warp Block have quite a lot in common, they're cube shaped, they teleport you to different places, they have puctuation on their sides, and they sometimes glow. Should we merge them for the things they have in common, or leave it for the design's difference in Mario Party Superstars (I prefer to call is Mario Party 12, but there's no known proof of it, and it's not as original as Super Mario Party)

Merge, There's quite a lot in common[edit]
Leave it, I don't see it that way[edit]
- Swallow (talk) We don't usually merge subjects just because they have a lot in common. Sometimes it's because they share Japanese names which isn't the case here.
- Hewer (talk) Per Swallow, similarity doesn't mean they're the same thing. There's also the fact that the current Warp Box design is known to be different from the current Warp Block design in Mario Party Superstars.
- Archivist Toadette (talk) Per Swallow, and per myself in the comments.
- 7feetunder (talk) We merge things because they're the same, not because they're similar, and they're not even all that similar. Warp Boxes honestly have more in common with Warp Pipes than Warp Blocks. Not only that, the Partners in Time one should be split since it has nothing to do with the Mario Party one.
- Waluigi Time (talk) Per all.
- WildWario (talk) Per all.
- TheFlameChomp (talk) Per all. I also agree that the Partner's in Time one should be separated.
- DannyTheDingo (talk) Per all.
Comments[edit]
I would really appreciate it if there was an option to keep the Partners in Time info separate, since they're pretty much different in every way except concept. Plus, they can only be triggered by one age group of Mario Bros to transport the other directly to them, whereas Warp Boxes can be used free of any "triggering" by anyone else. - I actually don't recall the name "Warp Block" being used in-game for Partners in Time. Is it used in a guide or something? Nightwicked Bowser 18:58, September 24, 2021 (EDT)
- I don't think it's in the game either, but I found it in the European manual (page 18, and it's lowercase). It's probably in the NA manual too, but I couldn't find it online and my copy of the game doesn't have the manual. 22:42, September 24, 2021 (EDT)
- I was actually planning on bringing this up soon, since I saw them in my recent playthrough and was surprised to see it sharing a page with some unrelated MP thing. Unfortunately, my copy lacks a manual too (though there's a bunch of OTHER material in the case...) Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:33, September 24, 2021 (EDT)

The Bad Luck Space and the Unlucky Space have seperate articles, and they have the same Japanese name.--Partier (talk) 01:22, September 25, 2021 (EDT)
- I can't make any judgement on that, as I have almost no familiarity with Mario Party. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 01:30, September 25, 2021 (EDT)
- Language-of-origin names don't necessarily dictate a merge or split. They are often used as evidence to support a merge or split, but there needs to be independent evidence aside from the name. It's not even relevant here, though, since Warp Box and Warp Block don't even share a Japanese name. 01:50, September 25, 2021 (EDT)
