In chess, white is always the first to move

For this purpose, does anyone know if Mario's side is white or is Bowser's side white?

I believe it's Mario's side that goes first, but I guess it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. Mario It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 23:55, 27 November 2015 (EST)
