:::::::::::To my recollection, it only hops into and out of the pot object and isn't strictly "potted" like the name would suggest. Am I incorrect? All right, since the article didn't have the information I was looking for, I checked my saved game for behavior differences (it helps that a quick search shows that Potted Spiked Fun Guys appear in the same stages, namely the beginning of World 3-5). In ''Yoshi's Island'', Spiked Fun Guys just hobble back and forth along the ground, bouncing back when they hit a wall. Instead of this simple movement, Potted Spiked Fun Guys stay in their pot and constantly jump in it, slowly moving towards Yoshi with each jump and occasionally performing a higher jump. A simple lick removes the Spiked Fun Guy from its pot, but it can also be popped with an egg or a seed, leaving behind the pot. The pot can then be swallowed for an egg or left behind, in which case another Spiked Fun Guy can hop in it if it comes across it. So, yes, their pattern completely changes in the pot, so I guess it could be seen as more akin to a Beach Koopa (which also isn't differentiated in Japanese material or games like ''Super Princess Peach'', but yeah) hopping into a shell. Meanwhile, the ''Yoshi's Story'' Spiked Fun Guys walk out of holes in the background, then after a moment of standing in place on a slope, proceed to roll down it; if between two slopes, they keep rolling back and forth until vanishing.
