Split Roulette Coin Block?[edit]
Shouldn't we split the Roulette Coin Block from New Super Mario Bros. 2 off of this page, seeing as how both blocks have slightly different functions? (T|C) 18:07, 4 December 2018 (EST)

Split Roulette Coin Block from this article[edit]
This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit this section or its subsections. If you wish to discuss the article, please do so in a new section below the proposal. |
split 12-1
This stems from a comment I made five months ago. There is absolutely no reason for this obviously-distinct variant of the normal Roulette Block from New Super Mario Bros. 2 to not have a separate article, seeing as how even the Prima guide treats them differently. Additionally, we already set a precedent by splitting out Fire Koopa Clown Car, so...

Support[edit]
- Toadette the Achiever (talk) Per proposal.
- FanOfYoshi (talk) Why not? Also, i'm interested on the Japanese names.
- YoshiFlutterJump (talk) Per proposal. The Roulette Coin Block is clearly distinct from the Roulette Item Block, and the fact that NSMB2 also has the item block only adds weight to this proposal's argument.
- BBQ Turtle (talk) Per all, I think they're different enough to be split.
- Scrooge200 (talk) Per all.
- TheDarkStar (talk) Per all, these are completely different things.
- Doomhiker (talk) Per all.
- Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) Another variation regarding NSMB2's gold coin theme just like the Gold Flower, the Gold Ring and the enemies it alters, and those coin bonus levels. If they're split, this is.
- Niiue (talk) Per all.
- WeirdDave13 (talk) Per all.
- TheFlameChomp (talk) Per all.
- Alex95 (talk) - Per all.

Uhh... something I learned is that you should have a talk first... EDT: Oh... sometimes people won’t look... [-]€40 vv@(talk · edits) 09:48, May 7, 2019 (EDT)
- The only reason I made this proposal is because no-one responded to the above comment in a reasonable enough time. That's all I can really say about this. (T|C) 09:59, May 7, 2019 (EDT)
- Ok... but now people will know so can you stop the proposal? [-]€40 vv@(talk · edits) 10:01, May 7, 2019 (EDT)
@HEROMARIO: Mind explaining your oppose vote a little? I can't understand the argument you're making. -YFJ (talk · edits) 11:54, May 7, 2019 (EDT)
- I think I understand what his argument is: the way both blocks function are identical - hit them and you get a random item. The only difference is that the Roulette Block gives a random power-up, the Roulette Coin Blocks in NSMB2 award a different amount of coins. But that argument doesn't work well unto itself, because both blocks have slightly different rewards. – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 14:21, May 7, 2019 (EDT)

- Same thing can be said about Piranha Plant and Gold Piranha Plant, though. Both come out of pipes to bite. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 18:31, May 7, 2019 (EDT)
- I guess Coin Block and ? Block should share an article, then, because you punch them both to get something useful. -YFJ (talk · edits) 19:37, May 7, 2019 (EDT)

By the way, if anyone is wondering, "Roulette Coin Block" is a name that comes up often in the Prima eGuide. (T|C) 23:58, May 7, 2019 (EDT)
