How to tell from a flower[edit]
In SMS you can tell a pokey sprout from a flower just by spraying them because they don't sing like flowers do. I don't think that was included. TimTamChimchar 06:36, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

Super Mario Galaxy[edit]
There is an image of a Pokey Sprout in Super Mario Galaxy or Super Mario Galaxy 2 ? Sonic98 (talk) 04:27, 9 May 2013 (EDT)
Naming[edit]
For future reference, the Player's Guide (written by Alan Averill and Jennifer Villarreal) is vague about names: "Shoot the poofy flowers with FLUDD, or Body-Slam them to make them drop coins. Spray them into a wall to get lots of coins." (Page 32) Meanwhile, the BradyGames guide (written by Tim Bogenn and Doug Walsh) lists the enemy as "Sanbo Head" and consistently uses that name, but its enemy names are not reliable. The Versus Books guide (written by Casey Loe) also uses the exact same names as BradyGames, so not much hope there. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 14:32, 1 August 2017 (EDT)
Pokey Head = Pokey without its segments[edit]
Are Pokey Heads basically Pokeys with just their heads, or are they an individual subspecies? --

- They're a distinct thing. In Sunshine, Pokey Heads are actually distinctly larger than normal Pokeys' heads. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:07, August 8, 2020 (EDT)
Sanbo Head vs Pokey Pod[edit]
Sanbo Head is currently treated as the "name at the time" for the Sunshine section, and I understand why (the name "Pokey Pod" wasn't used until Toadstool Tour), but I think "Pokey Pod" should be used instead. The "Sanbo Head" name comes from the same guides that called Strollin' Stus "Hamkuris". Meanwhile, the Prima's guide, which used the correct "Strollin' Stu" name, also used the name "Seedy Pod" for a variant of this enemy, and there's no way "Seedy Pod" isn't based on "Pokey Pod".
