Talk:Octopus (boss)
Not only does this article need major clean-up, I'm not sure I agree with the facts on this article. Thoughts? Wa TC@Y 20:14, 4 November 2006 (EST)

I may have found a name for this guy. Various Japanese sources give his name as Pako, a pun on the Japanese word for Octopi, Tako. I don't have a link- I heard this from a trusted source of Nintendo info- but wanted to point it out. --The Qu 00:45, 31 May 2010 (EDT)
"Poko"[edit]
Unsurpsingly, the "Poko" name for the smaller octopi is from the Super Mario Daijiten. Niiue (talk) 09:17, 27 December 2015 (EST)
Revert to octopus[edit]

revert to "octopus" 6-0
This is an addendum to a previous proposal. Specifically, "Pako" is the game's only boss character that currently uses a foreign name. The reason is because "octopus" was deemed as a generic name. However, a closer inspection at the source shows that it's preceded by a big "OCTOPUS" header, matching the other boss identifications. Thus, this proposal will make "octopus" the sole exception to the previous proposal.

Support[edit]
- LinkTheLefty (talk) - We can also move to the simpler identifier "boss" this time, since it's the only octopus subject that's a boss.
