rename 5-0
Most RPG Games have a "bestiary" article. Then why not this one? I think it would be better if all the RPG Games have a bestiary article.

Rename[edit]
- Randombob-omb4761 (talk) Per proposal.
- Zootalo (talk) The Dream Team bestiary has the same proposal, so this page might as well follow suit.
- Yoshi876 (talk) Per consistency.
- Icemario11 (talk) Per all.
- LeftyGreenMario (talk) Sure, let's do that.

Tutorial Bosses[edit]
There's some debate as to whether Bowser 1, Midbus 1, Broque Monsieur and Broggy are bosses. They're unique enemies with the Boss Battle entrance (except Bowser) and death animation, but they aren't too strong and the regular enemy battle music plays. I think I've thought of a middle ground. What if we just listed them as Tutorial Bosses, since that's what they are, bosses meant to teach new techniques. We could use Italics for it. Any takers?

P.S. The game doesn't save after defeating Dark Bowser/Dark Star Core. Therefore, technically speaking, they are always the last enemies encountered. However, the X Bosses are listed after them. Is that important?
- I'm going to go ahead and do it.

- I think the optional bosses are down there because the whole place is optional with no place to put them. As a matter of fact, since Bowser X is harder than Dark Bowser (or any other boss), he should be last and the others need to be near him.

- I think this should also apply to the bestiary for Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. That game has mini bosses as a pose to area bosses which are fought at the end of the areas and have something to master like a gimmick. (talk) (edits)

Wrong stat boosts[edit]
I've noticed that a few stat boosts from the Challenge Medal are incorrect. Take Goombule and Elite Goombule for example, it says that Goombule's SPD is 18. This is correct because 12 x 1.5 = 18. But look at Elite Goombule's, which is at 28. 12 x 1.5 does not equal 28. Also look at Bowser. His HP is 40, but 25 x 1.5 = 37.5 (which rounds to 38), which means his HP should be 40. Can anyone tell me why some are this way? DarkBowser777(talk)

Fixed item drop chances[edit]
In Partners in Time and Bowser's Inside Story (DS), the item drop chances aren't independent checks for each item, but an overall check for whether an item should drop, then a check for whether the 'rare' one should drop; I've changed the rates to reflect what the rates would be if they were independent checks. I don't plan on changing the Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey drop tables, because I don't know how they were obtained, and it's definitely possible that they were changed to independent checks for that release (especially since Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions seemingly does so). Various Issues and Questions[edit]
![]() |
This talk page or section has a conflict or question that needs to be answered. Please try to help and resolve the issue by leaving a comment. |
I've noticed some problems with the page/info while also being left with unanswered questions. Some are simple to solve, others may require editing Template:M&LBIS bestiary, or may require digging into the game for very technical info.
- Challenge Medal does not increase SPEED. I was very surprised by this.
- The Challenge Medal explanation note is in the template page. Some things should not have this note or have a different note entirely on the Challenge Medal (see the next points on giant enemies and Wisdurm's forms).
- Giant enemies have normal stats listed, which apparently do exist within the game, but are useless due to how giant battles actually play. These meaningless stats should be put in gray text like how some other bestiary pages handle meaningless stats that are real internally.
- Challenge Medal does not apply at all to giant enemies, including the coins.
- What do the various values displayed for status effects mean. "Burn?: Half" makes me have more questions than answers. Same applies to the "Normal" rate for statuses. Where did these values even come from?
- Wisdurm X's small form is not immune to dizzy, but because I have no idea where this status info is from, I don't know what value to put. All of this should probably be double-checked.
- Due to an oversight, while the Challenge Medal does apply to Wisdurm's small form at the start of the fight, it doesn't after she transforms. HP does get properly carried over, but the POW and DEF modifiers always use the normal stats, and this will even apply when transforming from small to big and back to small. Small will be strong before transforming, but when transforming back to small, she will be much weaker.
- Magic Rod from Wisdurm lists the boss's EXP and coins even though it doesn't drop anything.
- Some names need slight fixing, but I don't know exactly how to fix it:
- Bowser's Castle is for some reason named Bowser Castle in this game, and the link to there is linking to the redirect Bowser Castle instead of linking directly to Bowser's Castle with the piped name Bowser Castle.
- Magic Rod X from Wisdurm X is not the official name. It is simply referred to as Magic Rod.
This is a lot of stuff, but I needed to dump this somewhere so others could potentially help or think of better ways to handle this. --Spencer PK (talk) 21:36, March 4, 2025 (EST)
