Talk:List of Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels glitches
Another trick to note[edit]
In A-1, if you go down the high pipe near the end as a Hammer Brother is throwing a hammer at it, the hammer can sometimes hit you as you go down the pipe, and force you to slide out of it sideways. Tehshigelisok (talk) 07:02, 17 August 2013 (EDT)
There is also a glitch exclusive to the SNES version: In 9-3, if you get a GameOver, you can mess up the castle's tiles after the flagpole. I've made a video showing the glitch in action ( recorded on a real SNES, PAL version of Super Mario All Stars): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-bAaX0zrPc
Cannot know if other levels do have the same glitch, although I don't think so.
Invisible Platform[edit]
If, on 1-3, you get on the left part of platform on a rope, let it fall, then try to jump on the right platform, it's still there but invisible. Can someone add this, please? It's really easy to trigger. BTW, source: TheMushroomKingdom

Score Rollover[edit]
The game is incapable of displaying a score higher than 9,999,990; if your score exceeds this, it rolls back to 0. I confirmed this on the Wii U Virtual Console version, which means it likely occurs in the original as well. The only realistic way to exceed 9,999,990 points would be to use one of the infinite 1-up tricks and then clear the game with a ton of lives (each extra life earns you 100,000 points after clearing 8-4). - That's a pretty common glitch found in most older games with a score. Nothing special, but good job figuring that out! 13:28, 9 September 2016 (EDT)
Easy invincibility[edit]
At the square with the koopa in the start of 1-1, Trap the koopa in the far right. then jump and take a hit. Then, rapidly stay at the place where the koopa is. And, when your "damage invincibility" ends, you will not die (a.k.a., still invincible). (DISCLAIMER: I found this glitch on the "Super Mario All-Stars" and in a SNES emulator. So, i'm not sure if it works on console or in any other version. So, if it works, please, tell me. thanks :) --Cauan Vinícius (talk) 19:29, 8 June 2018 (EDT)
Should the article title be changed?[edit]
There is no universe in which the described infinite 1up tricks would reasonably count as a "glitch". They are by no means errors in programming, they are literally fundamental to the game design.
Therefore, I recommend either removing those two tricks from the list or changing the article title to "glitches and tricks".

- That's not necessary; the tricks should just be relocated in that case (preferably in the level article). Mario JC 07:54, February 22, 2020 (EST)
Another sprite overload glitch[edit]
In 2-4 if you run at max speed to the first firebar, it will disappear. However this was NOT fixed in the SNES version, unlike the disappearing springboards in the main article. Somebody might need to fact check this because I used an emulator.

Tricks[edit]
Is it possible to make an article talking about the 1up tricks or shortcuts? —-OhoJeeOnFire (talk) 09:18, October 19, 2021 (EDT)
About Stuck in the Coral photo.[edit]
I saw Small Fire Mario in that photo. Does that mean that it is possible to do the Small Fire Mario glitch in TLL? SONIC123CDMANIA+&K(B&ATSA) (talk) 08:23, April 12, 2023 (CST)
