Question; is it possible that the unused variation of Singapore Speedway is just the normal variant played when in the infinity pool? Despite how shallow it is, sometimes the game does treat it like you're underwater and the music does soften a bit (if that's the descriptive word for it). Now I'm terrible at describing music, but I did comparisons and they sound similar, with the game version having that audio effect for being underwater and the percussion is a bit more noticeable. - It does sound like a possible underwater variant, now that I think about it. I've only played Singapore Speedway as part of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but I could do some testing to see if the thing you described is in the course in MK8 Deluxe. I'll try a Time Trial and see if I can notice it. --

- Okay, I did a Time Trial, and there was no music change. It might be Mario Kart Tour exclusive. I could try to find a video of it, but that might not happen. It's not in MK8 Deluxe, that's for sure. --

- Now that the 2023 Winter Tour is replaying, I had the chance to play Singapore Speedway to compare the songs again and this "unused" version definitely seems to match. Some karts are built low enough that the game treats them like they're underwater (the Vampire Flyer is the one I used and it was considered submerged enough to pull the propeller out and the music changed), but some karts, like the Bolt Buggy or the Turbo Birdo, are built high enough that the game won't consider them submerged in the infinity pool. Point being, I don't think this is an unused variation, but a variation used for when the game thinks karts are underwater in the infinity pool, it just doesn't have the same underwater filter effect that the game has.

- (Sorry for the late response.) That is so cool! So it only exists in Mario Kart Tour then. You're right, this technically is not unused, but not many people would think to check this out. We could add this in because it's a fairly rare thing to notice. Although it's still used in-game, so I don't know...hmm, maybe in a Trivia section? Just to mention it? What do you think? --

- Given how it's not actually unused, I think it's safe to remove from this page. I have already added it to the Singapore Speedway article itself as a trivia point so it's still recorded at least.

- Okay! Thank you for at least mentioning it somewhere on the wiki! --
