The Gold Shell in ''New Super Mario Bros. 2'', ''Super Mario 3D World'', and ''Mario Kart World'' appears to be a different object from the Gold Shells in other games. It has a different function, and as of ''Kart World'' it has a different name too ("Coin Shell").
