They are called "floating plates" in the guide in the quote on page 106 "It's easiest to cross the lava using the floating plates.". How weird... PikaSamus (talk)

In the Prima Guide, they are called Flimps. And it is called that because it is "Thwomp" and "Flip" mixed. yoshiyoshiyoshi (talk)
- ok but were getting two different names here cause Mario Bros. says that the guide calls them Floating Plates which can be considered an official name Goomba's Shoe15 (talk)
