I thought the same thing too - they never appeared in that game, so I removed it. Samus costume, in Super Mario Maker. Mario JC

What about Mario Wonder?[edit]

The on-off blocks and the blocks that appear and disappear with the music… are those not considered dotted-line blocks? 172.59.194.182 13:28, April 6, 2024 (EDT)

Split?[edit]

While in the process of organizing this page to have proper history sections, it became rather apparent that these dotted-line blocks are extremely varied between games. Should they be split in some form? The ! Blocks in Super Mario World and Super Mario 64 feel especially disconnected from the other entries, which have a trending theme of alternating between solid and non-solid states, not just becoming solid blocks. In Addition, Super Mario Bros. Wonder features two totally distinct and uniquely functioning "dotted-line blocks", ones controlled by ON/OFF Switch like Super Mario Maker 2, and music-based ones with no player input. These ones should certainly be split at the least, since theyre literally alongside the traditional blocks.--PopitTart (talk) 23:42, January 27, 2025 (EST)
