Nya[edit]

Isn't nya also a cat sound in Japanese? (pardon my knowledge, I am not fluent in the language) SPM Nastasia.png LEIRIN Leirin 19:41, 10 March 2009 (EDT)

Well, nyā (or nyaa) is the sound a cat makes. I believe Bowyer's "nya" may be more like an old time gangster...(maybe?) -- Son of Suns (talk)

Carbo Cookie reaction[edit]

So the article says that he and his copy have a reaction to Carbo Cookies (with only the copy's being actually being visible in-game), but it does not bother to explain what said reaction is. This needs elaborated. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 12:29, September 17, 2023 (EDT)

The article looks like it's right: if you were to look at the battle script of Bowyer and his Machine Made in the fanmade Lazy Shell utility, you can see that there is a counter command for using the item slotted as Carbo Cookie. It's identical in both monsters and does something involving clearing three memory addresses. The obvious problem is that Carbo Cookies can't be used in battle. Hacking to force its use in battle doesn't do anything obvious (unless its properties need to be modified to be more usable). It seems that the intent is to clear the addresses associated with the button-locking mechanic. My shot-in-the-dark guess is that this is a remnant of the item that the Carbo Cookie may have overwrote. LinkTheLefty (talk) 20:55, September 17, 2023 (EDT)
Resetting the buttons sounds more like a debug thing. That IS what the cookie does, right? At least judging by the battle script. Blinker (talk) 19:57, December 7, 2023 (EST)
TCRF and pidge say the same thing. That said, I'd like to see it in action. I don't know why I'm unable to replicate the effect in-game. Same thing with these unused cutscenes - while they're real, I think the text might be mocked up. LinkTheLefty (talk) 15:07, December 13, 2023 (EST)
That's weird. Maybe it just lacks an animation? Were you still unable to use the locked button even after using the cookie? Blinker (talk) 16:00, December 13, 2023 (EST)
I tinkered with this on two separate occasions briefly. Changed target around to no effect. Animation cuts unnaturally, so it could be that or a script typo. In my experience, it just had no obvious effect on the buttons or arrows. EDIT: Also, the second time, I'm pretty sure I tried changing the item in the battle script, and still didn't get results. Something is supposed to happen, so I don't know what I did wrong. LinkTheLefty (talk) 16:28, December 13, 2023 (EST)
