Talk:Bowser Memory M and Bowser Memory L
Move[edit]
- Shouldn't this article be moved to Bowser Memory M and Bowser Memory L, because this article's current name suggests it's just one character that is Bowser's memory that's named ML when both of the memories are of different chharacters. Or should we change the title to Bowser's Memory Characters and keep this info and merge Bowser Memory P here because she is less important and doesn't really need her own article.M&L Just because you're in red doesn't mean you're strong. Have at you! 20:21, 4 February 2012 (EST)
- I know this is an ages-old comment, but I actually think splitting Bowser Memory M and Bowser Memory L is worth looking into. After all, the games treat them as separate bosses fought together, and they really only work together when Bowser Memory L revives Bowser Memory M through "memory" 1-Up Mushrooms. (T|C) 17:19, 27 January 2019 (EST)
- I do think that we should split them as they are different charcters fought together, with the game directly calling them different names. The only reason that they might be worth being merged is if the gauntlet calls them Bowser Memory ML, but if it does not call them that then I am fully for a split. Drop probability?[edit]
What is the chance of getting two Grown Up Wears?
— The preceding unsigned comment was added by BTD6 maker (talk).
Try using the Item Gloves with both brothers to get more than one of them, but their drop rate is quite low (possibly as low as 10%), so I'd say the odds are not good without Item Gloves. Make absolutely sure you've got the Item Gloves before going into this fight, because I don't know if you can go back and get them at that point. Avengah (talk) 02:16, 6 June 2013 (EDT)
Split Bowser Memory M and Bowser Memory L[edit]
This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit any of the sections in the proposal. If you wish to discuss the article, do so in a new header below the proposal. |
Don't split 8-11
Okay, so these are two separate bosses with different appearances, stats, and names (in every language), merged solely because they're fought together (which isn't a good excuse at all). They don't even have any damaging attacks that they perform together. Similarly to the concurrent proposal, I propose that we split these two different bosses, and keep this page around for disambiguation purposes.
Should this proposal pass, a near-identical action will occur for Bowser Memory MLX.

Support[edit]
- Toadette the Achiever (talk) Per proposal.
- Tails777 (talk) I can't see any reason to disagree with this. Per proposal.
- Obsessive Mario Fan (talk) Per proposal.
- Niiue (talk) Per proposal.
- Power Flotzo (talk) Makes sense to me. Per all.
- Doomhiker (talk) I think that the Red and Blue Goombas should be split too. While they are technically the same being, their differences makes it more like they split into two forms from the same body at the same time. I would even go for the WarioWare characters being split, considering that they are different characters, even if they are in the same situations.
- FanOfYoshi (talk) I don't see why not.
- Scrooge200 (talk) Per all.
Oppose[edit]
- Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) "Merged solely because they're fought together." Lies. They are both split from that....librarian-looking thing found in the brain area, meaning they are of the same organism, and iirc speak in a sort of hive-minded manner before the battle begins. This is the same character in two bodies at once, which is a helluva lot closer than the WarioWare examples mentioned in the comments below.
- Pseudo (talk) Per Doc von Schmeltwick.
- Waluigi Time (talk) Per Doc. For all intents and purposes, they are the same entity, and are never seen apart. Well, unless you kill one of them, obviously. You could argue that we should merge Bowser Memory P here by this logic, but I think that's closer to a different form of the character. While writing this I actually thought of a situation much closer to this than the WarioWare characters - Red and Blue Goomba. If we don't split them, I don't see why we should split these.
- TheDarkStar (talk) - Per Waluigi Time and Doc von Schmeltwick.
- Mario Sakuraba (talk) Per all, I honestly think splitting them is a stupid idea since like Waluigi Time said, they are the same entity. And this is the sort of thing that works pretty well for one article since it is treated as one boss. The same goes for the Gauntlet version too.
- Lord Grammaticus (talk) - Per Doc and Wt, there's not enough to justify a split imo, given that they're even created simultaneously.
- TheFlameChomp (talk) Per Doc von Schmeltwick and Waluigi Time.
- MiracleDinner (talk) Per Don von Schmeltwick, Waluigi Time, & Mario Sakuraba
- MarioManiac1981 (talk) Initially, I was thinking of supporting this proposal but that's not happening. After reading Waluigi Time's, the Doc's, and Sakuraba's reasons - and checking out the Bowser Memory ML article for myself - I really don't see any reason to split these two aside from their battle information. Their trivia section contains notable pieces and their introductary paragraphs also have a lot to say, so all that's gonna happen is that we have mostly duplicate information in both articles. What's the point of that?
- Yoshi the SSM (talk) Per all.
- Sdman213 (talk) Per all.
Comments[edit]
If we split these two, what should we do about the WarioWare duo characters (Ashley and Red, Kat and Ana, Dribble and Spitz, Young Cricket and Master Mantis)? Seems like a similar situation to me. -- Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 18:48, August 27, 2019 (EDT)
- That's a different situation entirely. (T|C) 18:51, August 27, 2019 (EDT)
- How? Those can at least function without the other present. This is just that shocky librarian thing split into two bodies. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 00:57, August 28, 2019 (EDT)
@Doomhiker: I'd actually support splitting the WarioWare characters too, but that seems like an unpopular stance based on previous attempts to do so. At this point, Ashley might have enough solo appearances to warrant her and Red being split, but I don't know about the rest. Unfortunately, that also introduces a consistency issue. -- Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 12:46, August 29, 2019 (EDT)
- You'd support splitting the WarioWare characters, yet your comment is seemingly against splitting the Goomba Bros. (Also, I think Ashley and Red should be split too because Ashley has appeared on her own quite a bit.) --DeepFriedCabbage 14:57, August 29, 2019 (EDT)
- Agreed. Plus, they're separate characters. -- FanOfYoshi 15:06, August 29, 2019 (EDT)
- I'm not necessarily against splitting the Goomba Bros., just using them as precedent. It's the same situation here, except the Goomba Bros. are at least unique entities from each other. Admittedly I don't feel that strongly about the WarioWare characters, I've never played the series so I don't know how much could be said about them as individuals, (Kat and Ana in particular would probably be better off merged with how similar they are) but I would like to see Ashley and Red split at least. -- Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 15:12, August 29, 2019 (EDT)
- Agreed. Plus, they're separate characters. -- FanOfYoshi 15:06, August 29, 2019 (EDT)
The name "Bowser Memory ML"[edit]
From what I can gather, this combined name is never used. Yes, they are called Bowser Memory MLX in the Gauntlet, but that is technically a different boss. It's sort of a similar thing to Craw and Dark Craw, where the former name is derived from the latter and likely would be the real name, but is never actually used and thus still conjectural. We should either mark this article as having a conjectural name or move it to something like "Bowser Memory M and Bowser Memory L". I prefer the former, but I worry how it could affect the names in other languages section, since conjectural articles aren't supposed to have those. Technetium (talk) 12:14, September 28, 2024 (EDT)
- If we can't find a source for "Bowser Memory ML", I'd be fine with "Bowser Memory M and Bowser Memory L". Official names should always take priority. Hewer (talk · contributions · edit count) 12:33, September 28, 2024 (EDT)
- Yeah, those are the actual names used during the battle when you select which to attack - just says "All" when an attack targets both (in both the original game and remake). Bowser Memory ML is a nicer name imo, but going with the official names does solve the names in other languages issue. The only thing I can think of is maybe the Prima guide uses ML, but even then, shouldn't we prioritize the names used in the game itself? Technetium (talk) 12:44, September 28, 2024 (EDT)
- The Prima guide calls them "Bowser Memory M and Bowser Memory L", so I think it's safe to say this ML name isn't used anywhere. Technetium (talk) 13:57, September 28, 2024 (EDT)
