| It has a conjecture template on it, the name was made-up. -- Sir Grodus

| Yup.

| Yup what? And I don't remember there being lantern enemies in SMB3, unless it means Hotfoots. -- Sir Grodus

| Seriously, I doubt these are the same creatures. The lanterns in SML2 have eyes and tongues, while the ones in SPM just look like regular, non-anthrpomorphic lanterns that shoot fire. -- Sir Grodus

| I think this should be part conjecture, but that's just me. You're right, the Haunted Lanterns in SML2 are drastically different from the ones in other games. They float around, don't shoot fire, and attack with their tongues. 13:36, 11 June 2007 (EDT)

| For future reference, the source of the name seems to be the Super Mario Daijiten. Niiue (talk) 10:07, 27 December 2015 (EST)
