I'm sorry about copying the Ukiki picture from Ukiki, but it was the only thing I could find and I did many picture searches.

Toadstool Tour trivia[edit]
Here is a playlist of Japanese Toadstool Tour gameplay. One video shows the name「ウッキィ」(Ukkī), which is just the name for a regular Ukiki. Would this be the equivalent of Akiki? Does anyone know if the English version also lists Ukiki? LinkTheLefty (talk) 17:02, September 26, 2022 (EDT)
- This video shows it does. Blinker (talk) 16:03, September 28, 2022 (EDT)
- Okay. Flipping through the playlist, I just haven't been able to find a Japanese equivalent for Akiki. There are several names in the leaderboard that don't seem to correspond to existing Mario characters and are presumably dev-jokes (diacritics are fuzzy and may not be accurate, suggested basis in parenthesis): ヨツバのカトー, シューゴ (Shugo Takahashi), ひろゆきん (Hiroyuki Takahashi?), まさもん, ぬま, マロン (Zelda Malon?), なべっこ, サトビ (Masanori Sato?), ゆたぽん (Yutaka Yamamoto?), ふくださん (Mike Fukuda), まな, レスリー (Leslie Swan), トール (Toru Takamatsu?), キムカゲ (Akihito Kimura?), フーミン (Fumihide Aoki?), ミッチー, うのきょう, ムロラン, あかたら, あちゃ, デビッド, ビルきち (Bill Trinen?), さっちん, しずか, ぽぽみ, レイレイ (Reiko Ninomiya?), おおうめ, ハギー, まにのふ, しゅうじさん (Shuji Shimizu), のりすみ (Norisumi Osawa), しぎそう (Shigeo Matsuzawa?), しげちー, まさと (Masato Kawamura), クラーヤ (Motoi Sakuraba?), ツボイケ, うのっしー, and probably more. I'm starting to think "Akiki" might be along these lines, possibly Akiko Sato, since there does seem to be more names like this in the Japanese version compared to the English version. Getting a hold of regional text dumps would help confirm it though. LinkTheLefty (talk) 11:36, October 13, 2022 (EDT)
- I am not sure I understand what is being asked here, but I can confirm for sure that the name Akiki is not in the English scoreboards of the game. The name Akiko, however, can be found in the scoreboard of the regular tournament in Lakitu Valley. Furthermore, the name Ukiki can be found in the scoreboards for the star tournaments in Lakitu Valley, Cheep Cheep Falls, Shifting Sands and Blooper Bay. So I removed the trivia in the page, assuming it was a misunderstanding referring to the English version of the game. Is the matter resolved? — Lady Sophie (T|C) 23:03, June 24, 2023 (EDT)
