==Introduction==
The screen shows the rivals standing by a football. One of the rivals kicks it into the air. The camera zooms out as the solo player catches the football.

==Gameplay==
The solo player attempts to reach the goal line without being tackled by a rival. The solo player has three speed boosts for outrunning the rivals (two if playing with two rivals in ''Mario Party 9''). If rivals tackle and miss, they fall and lose some time. The rivals win if one of them successfully tackles the solo player or if time runs out.
===Trio Challenge===
In ''Mario Party Superstars'', this minigame is available in Stage 2 and Stage 5 of the [[Mt. Minigames#Trio Challenge|Trio Challenge]] in [[Mt. Minigames]].

In Stage 2, human players play as a team against an Easy CPU solo opponent, and the rank requirements are:
* A: Player makes a tackle within 10 seconds
* B: Player tackles within 20 seconds or CPU tackles within 10 seconds
* C: Player tackles within the time limit or CPU tackles within 20 seconds
* D: Player wins within the time limit or CPU tackles within the time limit

In Stage 5, a single human player plays against Easy CPU opponents, and the rank requirements are:
* A: Score a touchdown within 15 seconds
* B: Score a touchdown within 20 seconds
* C: Score a touchdown within 25 seconds
* D: Score a touchdown within the time limit

==Ending==
If the solo player is victorious, they will spike the football. In ''Mario Party 9'', they then strike a victory pose while the rivals groan; the inverse occurs if the rivals are victorious. In ''Superstars'', winners perform their winning animations in the middle of the field, with losers performing their losing animations in the top left.
