The switching rooms are not able to be opened without the proper [[Key|keys]] necessary to unlock them. The keys for unlocking [[Mario]], [[Luigi]], and [[Wario]] are found in [[Goomboss Battle]], [[Chief Chilly Challenge]], and [[Big Boo Battle]] respectively. The key required to unlock the '''empty room'''<ref> {{cite|url=https://www.mariowiki.com/File:Empty_room_key_get.png|title= ''Super Mario 64 DS'' in-game screenshot|language=en-us|date=2024|publisher=Nintendo of America}} </ref> (white door to the right of Wario's switching room) is obtained by catching all 8 [[Glowing rabbit|Glowing rabbits]]. Opening the door to the empty room grants [[Mario]] a [[Power Star|secret star]].
