A '''Swinging Claw''' is an object in ''[[Super Mario Maker 2]]'' that can grab enemies and items. When [[Mario]] approaches one, it drops whatever object it is holding. Swinging Claws can be placed on [[Track (object)|tracks]], and they can even be used to swing Mario. If the player is in a Swinging Claw's grasp, they can move left and right to build momentum before jumping out of it to gain more distance. In the ''[[Super Mario Bros.]]'' and ''[[Super Mario World]]'' styles, they are depicted as generic claws, while in the ''[[Super Mario Bros. 3]]'' and ''[[New Super Mario Bros. U]]'' styles, they are depicted as sentient claws with a face. In the ''Super Mario Bros. 3'' style, the Swinging Claw frowns when holding an object, although in the ''New Super Mario Bros.
