The Starting Planet is an area made of [[Brick Block]]s. A giant Luma is found on it. The player will encounter several giant enemies such as Big Goombas, Big Piranha Plants and Super Thwomps. This small, circular dirt planet is the second planet that players visit and the only sidescrolling portion of this galaxy. It is populated by three [[Big Koopa Troopa|Giant Koopa]]s that continuously walk around it counterclockwise. It is similar to [[Digga-Leg]]'s planet in the [[Spin-Dig Galaxy]], also containing a [[Spin Drill]] that the player must use to defeat the three Giant Koopas in order to reveal the Launch Star.

The player will start out at the beginning of the Starting Planet. They must run along the brick path, wall jump up the coin and past the pipes. The player will need to avoid the Super Thwomps to get to the Launch Star. They will then go to the Giant Koopas Planet. The player must obtain the [[Spin Drill]], and drill through the ground with the right timing to hit a Big Koopa Troopa's underside and defeat it. Once all three Big Koopa Troopas are defeated, a Launch Star will appear and take the player through the Giant Warp Pipe Planet and into the Giant Star Chips Planet.
