The Super Luigi series is a collection of books about Luigi's adventures in the Waffle Kingdom during the events of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. During Luigi's quest to save Princess Éclair, the green-clad hero was tailed by an author who recorded the events of the epic journey.
The Super Luigi series is a collection of books about Luigi's adventures in the Waffle Kingdom in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. These books tell a story about Luigi's quest to save Princess Eclair.

After Chapter 4, Mario can buy the first volume of the series at the Toad Bros. Bazaar in Rogueport for 64 coins, referencing the Nintendo 64. Three more volumes of Super Luigi are released after Mario clears each additional chapter, up to after the player beats the Shadow Queen. These books are sold for 128 coins each. The last volume is sold after beating the game for 256 coins, likely a reference to 8-bit storage capacity.

Three more volumes of Super Luigi will be released after Mario clears each additional chapter, up to Chapter 7. These books are sold for one-hundred and twenty-eight coins each. The last volume is sold for two-hundred and fifty-six coins after beating the game.

The Super Luigi series' tale usually differs from Luigi's rendition of his story. For example, in the Jazzafrazz Town section of the story, Luigi and his partner, Hayzee, state that in Hayzee's stage production, Luigi played the part of grass, while the books say that Luigi played the part of an earth spirit. The books make the stories told in Super Luigi more romanticized than they really are. Additionally, the books add a few details to the end Luigi does not mention, such as the Chestnut King being Princess Eclair's fiancé and Minister Crepe being the real villain, the latter of which is only vaguely mentioned by Luigi as a demon appearing after the Chestnut King's defeat.
The Super Luigi series' tale usually differs from Luigi's rendition of his story. For example, in the Jazzafrazz Town section of the story, Luigi and his partner, Hayzee state that Luigi played the part of grass, while the books say that Luigi played the part of a purifying earth spirit. The books usually make the stories much more dramatic in this way. It is unkown how
Luigi went on his adventure, seeing as how he occasionally appears in Mario's crowd.

The final revelation of Crepe having Luigi collect the Marvelous Compass pieces for evil matches the plot of the main game, being the Crystal Stars are used to awaken the Shadow Queen. Coincidentally, in both cases, the main villains end up manipulating Mario and Luigi by posing as allies (although in Mario's case it was more literal due to Professor Frankly being disabled and replaced by the time Mario got all the Crystal Stars).

Throughout the game, Luigi can be seen with several partners, like his brother. During each visit to Rogueport, Luigi is seen with a different partner, unlike Mario's partners, however, Luigi's partners seem to largely dislike him and only travel with him because they owe him a debt. After almost every exaggerated story that Luigi tells Mario, the partners secretly told Mario what really happened. Most of Luigi's allies are based on food: Blooey is based on calamari, Jerry is based on a cherry, Screamy is supposedly based on whipped cream, and hamburger-like Spinias and ice cream-like Spanias are found in the game's coding next to the other allies, implying they were planned to be Luigi's partners.

Mario first meets them in the plaza in Rogueport, where Luigi details their escapades in Rumblebump Volcano. Although Luigi claims to have successfully thrown Blooey at a monster, killing the golem, he actually tripped and sent Blooey crashing into lava, turning Blooey golden tan.

They defeat the snake, and Jerry accompanies Luigi to make sure no one has to witness the sight of Luigi in a wedding dress again. In the remake, he accompanies Luigi to prevent him from wearing high heels again, as Luigi was very clumsy in them.

Differing in appearance from a regular Spike Top, Torque has a green shell, and instead of a spike, Torque's has a wrench. Apparently, Torque has the ability to attach a variety of different tools to his shell, and as such, he became a mechanic of go-karts. When Luigi arrived on Circuit Break Island, he discovered that the champion of the kart races would earn a trophy with a piece of the Marvelous Compass embedded in the plaque. Luigi claims that he entered the contest and was paired with Torque and together, they won the race and earned the piece of the Marvelous Compass. In reality, however, at the beginning of the race, Luigi accidentally went in reverse, destroying all the karts in the competition and thus winning the race. Torque decides to tag along with Luigi until the plumber can pay him back for all the damage he caused on the island.

Hayzee lived in Jazzafrazz Town, where he wrote a musical entitled "The Mystery of The Fiery Hat of Social Awareness" for the annual Jazzafrazz Town Drama Slam. As it turned out, the compass piece that Luigi needed was a part of the Dramalama Plaque, the prize for winning the Drama Slam. So, Luigi became an actor in Hayzee's play. While Hayzee played the part of The Red Miracle, Luigi, much to his chagrin, played the part of grass. In the end, their musical was most popular by far, they won the Drama Slam, and Hayzee joined Luigi on his quest. Hayzee tells Mario that after he and Luigi finish their quest, he wants to take his play all over the world, of course, Luigi will be grass. Out of all Luigi's partners, Hayzee seems to be the only one that does not despise or find something wrong with Luigi.

His name and appearance invoke a scoop of ice cream in keeping with the dessert theme of Luigi's adventure.
