In ''[[Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga]]'' and its [[Nintendo 3DS|3DS]] remake, ''[[Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions]]'', the Super Hammer is an upgrade to the regular hammer, which can be acquired from the [[Hammerhead Bros.]] inside the caverns of eastern [[Beanbean Fields]] after mastering the [[Firebrand|Hand]] [[Thunderhand|Powers]] from [[Firebrand and Thunderhand]] in [[Oho Oasis]]'s [[Fire Palace|Fire]] and [[Thunder Palace]], though in the remake, they can only acquire them after defeating [[Mom Piranha]] in [[Beanbean International Airport]] and when [[Princess Peach]] arrives at the [[Beanbean Kingdom]] on her plane, where the Hammerhead Bros. will inform Mario and Luigi about them moving in the caverns of eastern Beanbean Fields after leaving Beanbean Castle.

Super Hammers allow the brothers to smash [[Gray Rock|gray-colored rock]]s (chinked gray-colored rocks in the remake) in the overworld, one of which happens to be blocking the entrance to [[Teehee Valley]], and another blocks the entrance to the first room of eastern Beanbean Fields' caverns, which allows the brothers to acquire the [[Secret Scroll 1]] and learn the [[Swing Bros.]] [[Bros.
