The '''Summer Festival Tour''' was the twenty-fifth tour of ''[[Mario Kart Tour]]'', which began on August 26, 2020 and ended on September 8, 2020. Reflecting its theme, the tour introduced a variant of [[Princess Daisy|Daisy]] in a yukata outfit and saw the return of [[Tokyo Blur]]'s setting with a [[Tokyo Blur 3|new layout]], as well as the return of [[Tokyo Blur]] and [[Tokyo Blur 2]]. It was the first tour since the [[Baby Rosalina Tour]] to feature a course from a real-life location as well as the first tour overall to see the return of past real-life location tracks. The menu's background featured {{wp|Mount Fuji}}, the {{wp|Tokyo Tower}}, and {{wp|Kaminarimon}} as landmarks for this tour.

The Summer Festival Tour reused the Baby Daisy Cup's bonus challenge from the [[Paris Tour]] for this tour's Yoshi Cup, the Mario Cup's bonus challenge from the 2019 [[Winter Tour (2019)|Winter Tour]] for this tour's Bowser Cup (although the two-star requirement was relaxed from 1:15.00 to 1:20.00 and the three-star requirement was increased from 1:08.00 to 1:05.00), and the Toadette Cup and Bowser Jr. Cup's bonus challenges from the [[Ice Tour]] for this tour's Lakitu Cup and Baby Rosalina Cup. This tour's Bowser Jr. Cup, a Do Jump Boosts bonus challenge, resembles the Metal Mario Cup challenge from the [[New Year's Tour]], but the one-star requirement was relaxed from 20 to 18 and uses Shy Guy for the challenge instead of Metal Mario.
