'''Star Carnival Bowling''' is a one-to-four-player [[minigame]] found only in the [[Mario Party 8#Extras Zone|Extras Zone]] in ''[[Mario Party 8]]''. Players can use either characters from the [[Super Mario (franchise)|''Super Mario'' franchise]] or [[Mii]]s from their [[Wii]] console. This minigame resembles the Bowling game from ''{{wp|Wii Sports}}'', except players bowl with the {{button|wii|A}} button instead of the {{button|wii|B}} button while swinging the {{button|wii|Wiimote}}.

==Overview==
In the introduction, a closeup of the ten pins that are set up at the end of the player's bowling lane is shown. The camera then zooms out until it is behind the player, who is holding a bowling ball, ready to bowl. The minigame then begins.

Players must play either five or ten frames of bowling (they are able to choose the number of frames they want to bowl prior to starting the minigame) by swinging {{button|wii|Wiimote}} while holding {{button|wii|A}} to throw the ball down the lane into the ten pins at the end. Just like in the actual game, players score [[point]]s based on how many pins they are able to successfully knock down (up to 300 points). If they want to check out the current score, players can press {{button|wii|B}} at any time before they continue on with their turns.

In the ending, the camera zooms in on the scoring screen above the lane (which scrolls left to right to show the full scores if the player chose to play ten frames), showing the player's/players' final scores for the game. The camera then zooms out to show the player(s), who do(es) their winning animation(s). In the multiplayer version, the losing players do their losing animations (this also happens if the player gets zero points in the single-player version).
